Useful step-by-step guide for giving to the DNC: 1. $3 2. ...

This is the most wretched campaign of deliberate, explicit persecution the United States has perpetrated against a minority group in decades. Many of the most important people in politics and journalism are busying themselves trying to figure out how little to say or do about it.

Here we come again. Year 5/100. @McConaughey.x.com #LISTOS

The talented @sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com is going onward as the host of Neon Liberalism. Here she is with @adamgurri.liberalcurrents.com and me talking about the civil rights movement and the application of its lessons to our situation today. www.liberalcurrents.com/neonliberali...

I wouldn’t think “moved to root out diversity initiatives” is a useful phrase for journalism at all, but using it as a euphemism for a purge of high ranking black officers is downright Orwellian.

Arsenal could have used Guirassy, but hey, Dortmund is not getting relegated.

If we start tomorrow and give it everything we’ve got, Mars still won’t be inhabitable for tens of thousands of years. I’m thinking about the modestly successful pop philosopher who argued “Elon Musk is a better human being than you,” and his reasoning was based on lower time preference.

This is a shamefully racist movement that should be resisted by every person of good will. @brian-goldstone.bsky.social’s forthcoming book is incredible and it’s honestly the archive’s loss (and the nation’s). www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/a...

Not a good own goal to concede by Union Berlin but that's a great decision by Ryerson to shoot there. #BVB

The attacks on DEI are a pretext for a much more radical agenda of reversing the gains of the civil rights movement, an objective the Trump administration is pursuing with zeal. A Great Resegregation. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

how about we stop terra forming earth into venus?

Elon Musk bragged about working the weekend, so Liberal Currents started doing weekend articles that are all criticisms of Elon Musk

Same thing as when sports fans complain about press coverage of 'drama,' insisting that they want stats and X's and O's, and then of course tune in for and banter about drama almost exclusively.

I'll post about my new article in a little bit. But for now I am too angry about General Brown being fired by the loser racists who run the White House.

Got something tomorrow in @liberalcurrents.com on the idea that a hyper-rich person doesn't need more money and therefore doesn't do things with an eye toward getting more money. It's very short, because that idea is very stupid.

NOSTALGIC GEN X'ERS, WHEN A HAIR METAL POWER BALLAD COMES ON AT THE GROCERY STORE: I never thought Leppard would rock *my* face off

The public choice economics 'toolset' could be put to use in a withering, thoroughgoing takedown of Trumpism. And it would be easy, trivial, like shooting fish in a barrel, and likely fun. The libertarian economists trained in the use of those tools have almost unanimously passed on the opportunity.

Fifty in a quarter should end the game. Mercy rule

McConaughey has 48 hours to get on Bluesky so I can tag him in my skeet about the season opener

Holding office hours and I can hear outside in the hall are some students training to be auctioneers. It's part of an innovative after-school program here in Texas called debate

If you can memorize four multiplication problems, then you can multiply and divide big numbers with ease: K × K = M M × K = B B × K = T M × M = T Add the knowledge that the U.S. population is 1/3 B, and you'll find that political and business news you hear will be more immediately comprehensible.

$20B ÷ 1/3 B = $60. Checks out. @matthewdownhour.bsky.social gets an A in Econ 2301 math

Here's a helpful tracker for all the MAGA-adjacent heterodox pundits who insisted Project 2025 was just a Democrat and/or elite media panic and Trump had never heard of it. Project 2025 has been quite successful at achieving its goals in just one month!

Watters is one of the vanishingly few (in a country of one-third of a billion) who the king might listen to. So what he campaigned to become is a very powerful beggar, able to dispense his begging services to a few others. 'No connections to Trump, little one? Let's see if your man Jesse can help.'

Unearthed a bit of Douglass today. To my knowledge this was previously un-transcribed. Douglass on land reform, 1856. "If all men are Brothers, and are equally precious in the sight of God, the equal right of all men to a portion of the earth at once becomes manifest."

If you take one thing from this podcast, let it be this: Elbridge Colby, nominated as Defense Undersecretary for Policy, thinks we should bomb TSMC if it appears China may annex Taiwan. He wants to go scorched earth on our own allies. He's not a serious thinker

A moral stain on all of us
