Two of my favorite topics — climate change and traffic calming devices — colliding, so to speak.

Planners love it. It’s why they hold these meetings & listen to them. Its why when YIMBYs showed up to them and flooded Seattle’s planning staff with 10,000 pro housing statements they said “this wasn’t the right outreach” & went door to door to community council meetings yelled at by 7 people

Not trying to get into it with anyone but there are *a lot* of people on here who were very vocal about their decision to not vote for Harris, maybe it's for them

oh hey our next mayor @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social showed up to support a much bolder plan and mentions social housing 💪💪💪

Neighbors are great. I want more of them.

any discussion of why "progressive seattle" politics somehow wound up looking like an Ohio swing district in 2002 has got to start with even year elections

seattle council holding a hearing at 330 pm getting exactly the sort of citizen participation they planned for

Unless they’re for some reason talking about houses in Arizona, using “Tombstone Homes” to refer to renter housing is really gross

Narrow, canyon streets are wonderful.

We bombed Iran without congressional approval and I still have chores and work and kids in sports and supper to make. Living through autocracy and another possible forever war while living day to day is wild.

Take a look at this new construction house in Woodlawn that comes with a built-in “junior ADU”. The junior ADU is a 1-bedroom in the first floor’s front half, while the main unit has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and occupies the rear half and the full second floor

After over a year of neglect, I finally updated my Seattle Transit Map! September will mark the tenth anniversary of the map. The website itself needs work but the new layer is now online. seattletransitmap.com/app/

“A bike and pedestrian-only bridge, potentially with transit, wouldn’t induce as much traffic into the neighborhood as a new bridge for general purpose traffic, but it wasn’t advanced as one of the alternatives.”

CURBY LIVES (yes this is *that* curb, no I didn't do it)

He illegally started a war and nothing will happen because everyone in Congress is a spineless coward.

what a stupid presidency, what a stupid fucking war

They have made the world living hell for no reason whatsoever. People will ask why this happened in a decade and there will be tremendous effort to make it more complicated than “they were evil, stupid, and bored”

The Molly Moons at the Waterfront Boat Landing has been an amazing upgrade. Perfect sunset sweet treat

Seattle really is beautiful

Want greener, cooler cities that are a “breath of fresh air?“ Just in case you thought Paris wasn’t ambitious enough this weekend, on top of our new exhibition, they opened the new “Urban Forest” in the square at City Hall! Part of @annehidalgo.bsky.social & team’s brilliant urban greening strategy.

Cool artful data display across from King Street Station (Seattle)

Very good vibes at the King Street Station Equinox party.

AOC gets it. Every other Democrat in Congress must follow her lead here.

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

amtrak’s marketing team gets it

The Housing Theory of Everything includes what happened to Bartell Drugs, by the way. With downtown Seattle too heavily balanced toward office workers over 24/7 residents, Bartell couldn't handle the pandemic and sold to Rite Aid as a result. Former CEO Kathi Lentzsch:

the reason these trucks look “silly” is that they have large windshields and a low hood, which increases visibility and reduces risk to pedestrians. trucks like this should look normal and F-150s should be the silly ones

Younger people will be shocked to hear this, but way back when I grew up, anytime you saw a movie where some government official stopped someone on the street and demanded to see their identification papers, that was supposed to let you know they were the *bad* guys.

wonder if they're dreaming about crossing the lake one day 😴

The Curby Cloverleaf is an unnecessary freewayification of our city streets.

This is the real reason everyone is lining up behind Harrell with empty endorsements.

Bruce Harrell endorsers

We should…advocate against this.

Rob Saka could've just realized everyone was laughing at him, took the L & moved on. Instead he quadrupled down on the one issue that unifies the whole political spectrum against him & will doom his reelection. He STILL thinks he can bullshit his way out of this but it just keeps getting funnier

What if we call the little spot of green being created here Curby Park.

This used to be a parking lot
