The chaos is the point. The callousness is a feature not a bug. When we elect a wannabe dictator we get executive overreach and power grabs. When we fill the legislature with spineless partisans we get inaction . When our highest court is complicit then we lose justice. The chaos is the point.

The Democratic Party needs to start treating every single seat as one we can flip. We need to go state by state and district by district tying all of Trump’s worst actions to the GOP Congress person and Senator there. We need to run specific candidates that can win. #2026

Can we find 4 GOP House members willing to switch party this term? They can run as GOP next term, who cares, we need some checks & balances. If the GOP is going to just hand over the power of the purse & allow the executive branch to dismantle agencies it legally created then why be in Congress?

Remember when we thought DOGE was going to be just another Grace Commission? Man, I miss those days. Instead, Musk is leading a team of 19-25 YO bros (the only people that could think he is cool) thru our nation’s sensitive data; and has the power to block members of Congress from federal buildings.

Old school coffee maker hot chocolate. Fill reservoir with 80% water. Pour fat free or oat milk in the carafe (not reservoir) to about 10% then pour in unsweetened cocoa powder to taste, stir then run the coffee maker. Stir again once it’s done and you’ve got a pot of hot cocoa. Sweeten to taste.

Another year and another trip to Longwood Gardens. We love all the lights and our 1 year old was very excited about the different displays and she clapped for several which is her highest compliment. #Christmas #HappyNewYear #LongwoodGardens

Our tiny tabby Mira, not seen, our daughter’s 4 birthday balloons that Mira was waiting to pounce on in these shots. Thankfully, no babies or balloons were harmed in the fierce hunt that followed but a small tabby had her pride bruised after missing all of them spectacularly.

Flocks of seasonally festive birds have roosted around our house. We only buy ours from Target. We know other stores are knocking them off now, but only genuine Target birds flock here. This is just a small sample, they are most placed our daughter and cats can’t reach. There are easily 40+.

Some fun Christmas wreaths we saw while taking our daughter for a walk in Colonial Williamsburg yesterday. Photo credits to my wife, I was on stroller duty.

We took our daughter to Christmas Town in Busch Gardens last night to see the lights. The best moment is when she saw some “snow” get pumped out near some lights and she just started clapping and smiling from ear to ear. Worth every penny and chase down of tossed mittens. #Christmas #Parenting

My wife and I travel with our daughter. We take photos but the only shots that make it to social media of her are the back of her head if she is looking at a sea turtle, tree, etc. This makes family upset they can’t see her face. How do others navigate keeping their kids off social media? #Parenting

Here are some more Christmas photos. These were taken at Longwood Gardens the season before our daughter was born. She was our Christmas present last year! All photos I post are ones my wife or I shot with our phones :) #Christmas #LongwoodGardens

I’ve been thinking on how to shift the country back from the rightward lean. I believe that we have to talk to each other, stop throwing the towel in on “red” states, and get back to making policies easy to understand. The Democratic Party’s ideas can win anywhere, but not if we don’t engage.

It’s freezing out right now, here’s some spring time pictures to get through the late autumn chills. #Gardens #Tulips #Spring #Flowers

Does your carousel have a cat with a fish? Our city’s does and it is fantastic! #Cats #Carousel

Dom has hunted my daughter’s stuffed IKEA sea turtle and is napping on his prey to mock it. #Cats #NapTime

It’s that time of year again, even though I’m on a different journey now, I still love Christmas. #HappyHolidays #Xmas #Lights

My two furry kids doing their best to relax despite a chaotic baby storm that rolls through between naps. #Cats

Some feathered friends we have seen on our travels.

Spring of 2023 as my wife and I wandered around York, England, UK

A few more shots of a nice autumn day in Virginia.

I just love Autumn in Virginia, well anywhere really, it is especially nice here.
