I'm an Eisenhower Republican who never voted for Trump. I have 4 kids & 5 grandkids. I passionately follow Ole Miss and the Chicago Cubs. I was drafted in 1969 & served for 3 years. I grew up in the Mississippi Delta but have lived in Memphis for 52 years.

I am not an Ohioan but I wish Mike DeWine would appoint Mike Turner to the open Senate seat. Turner is well respected on both sides of the aisle & is a decent person. Trump seems to want Vivek who is a "nut case" and a "grifter" like DJT. DeWine is 78 and term limited so no political fallout.

I didn't realize that Vivek was born in the USA to two non-citizens. The 14th Amendment worked out well for him. What? His Mother earned citizenship some time after his birth but his father is still not a citizen some 40 years later while still living in this country. Vivek, we hardly knew ye!

I have questions regarding Canada's admission to the United States as our 51st state. Will we continue to allow Quebecers to speak French? One would think that Trump would prohibit the practice. Can one envision a 21st Century French Resistance where Underground Schools teach the traditional tongue?

Donald Trump must be furious with the way China's "Deep State" is wasting his hard earned tax dollars meddling in all sorts of foreign affairs. Once America takes back the Panama Canal, all of China's investment there will go down the tubes. Should foreign billionaires even be taxed in China?

I believe Trump is nominating these "nut jobs" solely to please the MAGA crowd. He knows that the really awful ones like Patel, Hesgeth, Gaetz, Gabbard, & RFKjr won't make it but he can say he tried & that keeps the flock in grievance mode. Now, they have fodder to blame the RINOs & Deep Staters.

I'm sure that Linda McMahon is "chomping at the bit" to address "trans" bathroom usage in public schools. Let's hope she tackles another more serious matter first. Kids need to be instructed that professional wrestling is real & not fake. Once convinced, we'll have a much more harmonious society.

Trump has a "tiger by the tail" in Elon Musk. Both are egomaniacs who will not share attention. Musk has already shown a predilection for acting like he is the main guy. One wonders if SoS nominee, Rubio, was aware of Musk's meeting with the Iranian UN Ambassador. This will not end well.
