secrets of game UI designers they DON'T want you to know

Similar to my post about "liberation means even for that annoying guy you hate" - weird art includes art you personally don't get, don't like, wouldn't spend money on, find unsettling. Games you wouldn't play. Books you wouldn't read. Decommercialise your preconceptions of what art deserves to exist

There's ONE person on my Steam friends list whose avatar/name just isn't the name I associate them with. And they're a dev working on a Steam game So every time they launch their own game I'm like, wait, did that come out???? How'd they get thOH they're the dev

they should make more websites, I looked at all these ones already

#pico8 #gamedev #indiegame I finished the prototype and named it Frontline. Each time you get the opponent flag you add a clone to the battlefield and switch team. Try it out : www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=149...

dude this party is such an echo chamber. it's just friends hanging out and chilling and having a good time. you need to invite some people over who want to kill you with hammers

God I love how much the structure of a story can change the story I'm so into stories that CHANGE or RECONTEXTUALIZE or reveal things naturally.... This is also my favorite kind of game, anything with a moment of realization. Stuff that's lampposted by the structure but never explicitly said

Never thought pickle and pineapple would work, but here's this Hawaiian burger, changing my mind

thought this was really beautiful

A visit from the guttersnipe

Wish I could cast a wizard spell and retroactively have been keeping a journal all these years... there's some stuff I wish I'd written down when it was fresh

This is my friend, Gross Michael. Don't make fun of him, he's got Panama Disease

what's the cool nonchalant way to say "hey your game looks cool, I'd playtest if you want" without sounding thirsty for free game keys yes this IS inspired by a true story

I might be in the minority here but you tell me your game is "gridless" and I'm like, uh oh I like hard numbers and chunky A/B decisions. if my two laser towers can't connect because they've got a max range of 5 and they're 6 apart, I'm like, okay if they're 5.01 units apart, I'm gonna be mad

today's adventure: went to a cafe I want to try doin' work at I didn't DO WORK there, but I did scope it out......... now I know what table I wanna grab next time........
