Life is so expensive. Why has my water bill gone up £11 and the water isn’t better? Heat is up and it’s not warmer, Netflix is up and the output isn’t better. Woof it’s all just too much.

I’ll be doing a ONE NIGHT ONLY reading of my play “GAY BOY” @alphabettitheatre.bsky.social on March 13th. All ticket sales donated to LGBTQ+ charities. Please come along. Tickets: www.alphabettitheatre.co.uk/gayboy

The three names of the Ratcliff kids in The White Lotus have some interesting origins - Saxon - English Piper - Irish Lochlan - Scottish What are you doing, Mike White?

It's LGBTQ+ History Month and I'm running a workshop on writing LGBTQ+ theatre on the 11th...a chance to learn the history of LGBTQ+ theatre as well as help and advice on writing stories about the community (whether you're a member of the community or not) www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/lgbtq-thea...

Rewatching The White Lotus in preparation for the new ones and the whole thing about Greg and Tanya is even more interesting when you know what’s coming.

So excited to be included in the first @playpiepint.bsky.social curated by @mrbrianlogan.bsky.social - info and tickets below!

I think it’s a travesty that rail cards end when you’re 30 and begin again at 60 - unless you’re in a relationship and you get the two together one. So I am campaigning for the “Single & Fabulous” Rail Card. 1/3 off travel - and available to those aged 30 - 60.

One of the best movies of 2024 is now on Amazon Prime UK. Go go go!

It’s me! And three other amazing writers!

Ray Newman has put together an excellent list of “Horror Classics” in literature and I have an awesome adaptation of “The Yellow Wallpaper” for theatre - it’s queer and marvellously creepy if anyone is so inclined! The wonderful @markravenhill.bsky.social gave his incredible dramaturgy as well!

Are you? Are you? Going to the tree.

I didn’t like Nosferatu, sorry I’m not sorry.

I still believe the real nightmare of Squid Game is sharing a dorm with that many people.

Excuse the Take That hoodie it was a joke purchase on Vinted. Happy No Man’s Land Days!

BeyoncĂŠ really is the best performer and musical artist of our generation.

They know that nobody cares about NFL games and they are dragging this out. Just give us BeyoncĂŠ. Whatever is happening here is dull.

It’s now time for the christmas tradition of watching “SPY” with Melissa McCarthy in it which my dad never wants to watch but loves every time.

If you are yet to watch “Alien on Stage” and you work or love theatre I cannot recommend it enough. A good reminder of the joy that being on stage can bring. No matter your background.

Watching this Carpool Karaoke and seeing Chappell Roan’s dad and mom sing all her songs is so heartwarming. Parents as allies is amazing.

I love this show so much. No whacky plots. No crazy propulsive action. Just people living, finding community, understanding how to be a human being. So good and so important.

I really enjoyed “Black Doves” a lot - like a lot. However there’s an essay in it in the volume of speech and how the biggest signifier of it is posh people speak quiet and say mean things and working class people speak loud and say mean things. Very interesting coded work there.

It should be Law that every hotel has TV’s that can do screen mirroring because I want to watch my stories on the big screen.

My gran took me to see this at the now long gone Roxy Cinema in Kelso. We sat on the balcony and I kept hanging off it until the raptor jumped out and I nearly fell off it. Core memory of my Gran catching me. My gosh, I miss her and I love this film.

I’ve been thinking a lot about writing advice because I get asked and I come back to the same thing: “Write the thing that You want to see because other people will want to see it as well.” It feels really simple but in terms of my journey it’s been the case.
