Thursday throwback: one of the first minis I ever painted—then and now. I painted this Grenadier Lesser Orc w/Axe in 1978, with enamel paint and Testor's plastic brushes. I painted another one in 2022, to help show new painters that they will get better over time. #minipainting #tabletopgaming

WIP for a Wednesday: Crossbones, from the Earth's Mightiest Core Set. I changed up his core colors a bit, adding a significant amount of Vallejo olive drab to the black for his clothing and mask. #minipainting #tabletopgaming #atomicmassgames #MarvelCrisisProtocol

Terrain for Tuesday: WH40K ruins. These sat on my Shelf of Shame for years before I finally decided to just go ahead and paint them...even though I don't play Warhammer. (They're just handy!) #minipainting #tabletopgaming #wargameterrain #gamesworkshop

The final March Monday means Malifaux! Week Five: last but not least, Lord Chompy Bits! #Malifaux #tabletopminis #minipainting #tabletopgaming #wyrdgames

It's #MCPFriday, comrade! Colossus says hi. I initially followed the tutorial from @sorastro.bsky.social on this one—mainly for the yellow and red costume bits—then finished with my go-to NMM steel method. #minipainting #tabletopgaming #atomicmassgames #MarvelCrisisProtocol #EpicBasing

A throwback for Thursday: my first competition mini. The rules were you had to paint this specific mini, but you could do whatever you wanted, so long as it fit in the dice box. I added wings and blue horror feet, plus the door. It took first prize! #minipainting #tabletopgaming #gamesworkshop

WIP for a Wednesday: Colossus. I'm basically following the tutorial from @sorastro.bsky.social on this one, with a few little deviations here and there. Additional base bits from #EpicBasing. #minipainting #tabletopgaming #atomicmassgames #MarvelCrisisProtocol

Two for Tuesday! I saw a question about taking photos of minis, so I wanted to share my setup, in case it's helpful to others. 1. Light booth on a raised surface 2. Ring light on a tripod, with a clip for my iPhone 3. Black backdrop (with a lint roller nearby) 4. Adobe Lightroom 5. Final product

Terrain for Tuesday: weathered docks. Another proof-of-concept project. My wife bought this MDF bridge/docks/walkway set for me, and I wanted to try out the "double-salt" technique to enhance the weathering effect. #minipainting #tabletopgaming #wargameterrain

March Mondays mean Malifaux! Week Four: the Dreamer, and Coppelius. #Malifaux #tabletopminis #minipainting #tabletopgaming #wyrdgames

For #MCPFriday: Doctor Octopus, Sinister Scientist! I debated for quite a while how to paint his coat: trench-, or lab-? Then my wife showed me her lab coat, with its distinct lack of belts and buckles. #minipainting #tabletopgaming #marvelcrisisprotocol #atomicmassgames

One last Invincible mini, until the next season starts: Omni-Man. (The mini is "All Dude," from Legion Miniatures.) #minipainting #tabletopgaming #legionminiatures

WIP for a Wednesday: Omni-Man, from Invincible. (The mini is "All Dude," from Legion Miniatures.) #minipainting #tabletopgaming #legionminiatures

Terrain for Tuesday: kitbashed modern scatter. These were part of a proof-of-concept project. I had read about using paper towels moistened with glue/water to simulate canvas, and wanted to try it out. #minipainting #tabletopgaming #wargameterrain

March Mondays mean Malifaux! Week 3: Alps, from the Hide & Seek faction box. #Malifaux #tabletopminis #minipainting #tabletopgaming #wyrdgames

For #MCPFriday: Doctor Octopus! I originally painted him just to get him table-ready, but his tentacles always bugged me. So I pushed the NMM further, and I'm happier with him overall now. Still hate his glasses, though. #minipainting #tabletopgaming #marvelcrisisprotocol #atomicmassgames

It's Thursday—time for this week's episode of Invincible. In honor of last week's episode, I present: Rex Splode. (A.k.a., "Dynamite Dude," from Hardcore Miniatures.) Mainly just small details left to do, so this should be done very quickly. #minipainting #tabletopgaming #hardcoreminiatures
