Gotham city concept art by Anton Furst for Tim Burton's Batman (1989).

Thinking about some of my favorite bits of live action character design

“You want me to kick you in the chest to get the bitch started too.” Some girl i bummed a cigarette and a lighter off of 20 odd years ago. I’ve forgotten who she was but not that line. Still makes me laugh.

At last!

Going through and signing off(mentally) on all 306 panels in my THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME adaptation There were about 12 panels that got completely redrawn after I inked everything and started coloring. I like it when one of those pages that didn’t work becomes a favorite after a redraw.

I like to refer to the late 90’s as the “twilight of the 20th century.” When reminiscing. Maybe just to remind myself that was in fact a long ass time ago.

Apparently The Breakfast Club is 40 years old this month! Here’s a sketchbook drawing of the cast from a few years ago.

THE TAKING OF OBJECT 932. Putting together a proposal to get this book on some shelves.

Coloring those last pages and moving on to letters!

“Clarence, 9’8”? I don’t want to mess with that guy!” A dad joke I can’t help but make every time I see one of these signs.

Happy 89th birthday to one of the best character actors ever, Joe Don Baker. The guy could rock a cigar, too. Watch the BBC miniseries Edge of Darkness if you get a chance - he’s tremendous in it.

The best thing about Monday is all my tea mugs are clean and I get to drink from my favourite one.

My ride is here

Fondly remembering Trapper Keepers.

This is the hardest I’ve laughed in a long time.

Favourite face I’ve drawn today.

You know who drew an amazing Galactus? John Paul Leon, that’s who
