The turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. We’re already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.

The always excellent @stevevladeck.bsky.social with a great explainer on last night's SCOTUS action. Sec. IV delves into why the order was rather extraordinary, mainly not bothering to wait on a ruling from the Fifth Circuit. Since Alito's its circuit justice, I'm guessing he's not a happy camper.

Update from the always-helpful @stevevladeck.bsky.social re: the DOJ's latest ridiculousness in cosplaying nonexistent tripartite powers. Interesting that Vladeck knows the order can't be appealed, but the DOJ's brilliant legal minds did not. Oh, right: all the best minds already got the fuck out.

Just to explain this to y'all non-Texans: our governor's Ahab for the past decade has been foisting charter schools on us. Thankfully he's run up against stark opposition from diehard Austin Dems like Vikki Goodwin, and also the vast majority of rural lawmakers already dealing with bad schools.

I'm sure you'll be shocked (SHOCKED!) to hear that the Trump admin is bullshitting on this issue. For one thing, the problem is specific to a lack of water: how can Mexico (or anyone else) deliver water that literally doesn't exist? And yes, the Western drought (including Texas) is THAT bad.
