I have a trade deficit with the local grocery store. They sell me food, they never buy anything from me. Luckily I understand that if I have money coming in from my employer—he buys my labour—then that trade deficit doesn’t matter. Same with Canada. US needs their oil. Offsets are elsewhere.

I read the so-called plagiarism accusations. None of them amounted to anything. In a couple, he “slightly reworded” a consensus economic view, amounting to 20 words total. And PP? He has no such accusations because he couldn’t write a PhD thesis in economics to save his soul.

It is absolutely right that we do not need Greenland (or Canada) for natsec reasons because they are already close NATO allies. So the only rationale to turn the US into an aggressor in our own hemisphere is if you don’t plan on NATO being a US alliance in the future.
