I take photographs to make art that evokes dreams, and I’m writing a fantasy thriller about a man who changes bodies with a bird. But I have a deceptively normal appearance. https://linktr.ee/jptamblyn

ICE pricks

America was built on cheap labor, and businesses like to normalize their abuses. Getting livable wages is just business, but employers like to publicly pretend it’s some kind of threat to civilization, when it’s really just a threat to excess profit.

Americans should always be wised-up to corporations’ tactics for cheapening labor. A seemingly more trivial example is when they refer to their workers as “family,” instead of “colleagues,” or “partners.” Softening the resistance is a tactic used to sidestep unionization, which is illegal.

Let’s look at this political scene in a different way: billionaires have already privatized over half of congress, most of the Supreme Court, and the Executive Branch.

Hey, Unjustly Fired Federal Employees — thank you for your service. Please let me know how I can assist you. DM if necessary.

JUST NOW completed the latest and hopefully final draft of my first novel. I’m sending it tomorrow to 6 test readers, then, I’m going on a 2-week staycation. I’m excited and happy to have completed this 3.5-year effort. And how are you?

A few pics from the Kansas version of today’s nationwide No Kings — President’s Day - rally in all 50 state capitols. Despite temperatures in the teens, the crowd continued to grow during the first hour. The shot of marchers shows about half the number involved.

Protesting the actions of King Donald and his Minister of Digital Trickery Elon Musk this morning. Went to Senator Moran's local office first, then here, at Senator Marshall's office. Moran's staff received us and listened. To no one's surprise, neither Marshall nor his staff were in.

If you asked me for an example of Artificial Intelligence, I’d say Elon Musk.

Salon Night was awesome this evening!

Investors put money into businesses, money they can usually afford to lose. Employees put their time, their attention, and their lives into the businesses of their employers — entities that can never be replaced. The America I want to live in demands that businesses and government operate fairly.

Me to my senators: That Hegseth person is in no way qualified for public office, and if you vote to confirm him, that signals to voters that you, too, are unqualified.

Can art really do more than decorate and divert?

New roommate!

Of course they have.

Writing my first novel, and I find watching short videos that show a process of art — painting, ceramics, wood carving is a very satisfying and encouraging reminder that detail, craftsmanship, patience, and trust in one’s own process, are all vital in producing the best work possible.

Four pieces I made in 2024 that took me in a new direction.

It’s the season for moodier work. I love this time of year!

New statute proposal: every church that preaches anything other than love, acceptance, and charity has to pay taxes, and is required to place quotation marks around the word “Christian” in reference to itself.

Harrison Butker MISSED his field goal try last Sunday. I've been donating $10 to Planned Parenthood every time Harrison makes a FG. And I noticed that Planned Parenthood has a matching thing going on right now. So, I just donated $50 to Planned Parenthood. Merry Christmas!

Visited Dolphin Printing this morning to pick up 2 smaller prints and see this gorgeous 48x48 of “Redemption and Retribution.” Sold to an interior design firm by @cerberart ! It’s so thrilling to see these impressionistic photos at large scale — the minute details pop so brilliantly.

Trump’s making a big push to keep criminals from crossing our borders, because they might want jobs in his cabinet.

The real secret to a fun Thxgiving weekend is spending as much time as possible with the little guys. They’re snuggly and funny and they don’t talk politics.
