Release day today! Woohoo! unsounds.bandcamp.com/album/annea-... @yanniskyriakides.bsky.social @cmcireland.bsky.social #annealockwood

It's about time these stories weren't accompanied by an image of someone frolicking in the water or eating an ice cream. It's not going to stop getting hotter, we really ought to fucking grow up and treat this seriously🤦🏻‍♂️

Even if all you say is… “I oppose the Regulatory Standards Bill. It should be thrown out. I do not want an amended version of the Bill passed.” PSA lays down some deets on this prick of a bill #RBS #aonzpol #nzpol

3 days left to make a submission on the Regulatory Standards Bill. Introduced under urgency - it undermines our communities, the environment and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Take the time to submit - loads of resources out there to demystify the Bill. www.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/mak...

The Green Party says proposed changes to the Employment Relations Act announced today by the Government will further undermine workers’ rights while pandering to big business. This cruel Bill will cut off our most vulnerable workers from the rights that belong to them

Launching this Friday! #annealockwood Piano Works

Who can blame them? DS is such a disingenuous, smug, self-righteous prick.

#nzpol Minimum Wage increased 1.5% this year. Data just released by Stats NZ shows: - Food Prices up 4.4.% - Beef up 16.2%. Lamb up 20.3% - Cheese up 17.3%. Milk up 13.7% - Electricity up 8.7%. Gas up 15.4% - Rent up 2.8% Laser focussed on the cost of living www.stats.govt.nz/information-...

JOIN YOUR UNION, TODAY #nzpol

So it begins. 10-year outsourcing contracts for private hospitals? It’s a sell-off. You don’t lock in health equity with private contracts to those who profit from illness. You lock out the public. The corporate takeover of our health system is now official policy. #PublicHealthCrisis #NZPol

To help strengthen the activism, and advocacy opposing the Regulatory Standards Bill in New Zealand, I’ve created a Google NotebookLM with 30 key resources, including the documents mentioned in killtheregulatorystandardsbill.com. Access it here notebooklm.google.com/notebook/193...

Don’t sit this one out. The Regulatory Standards Bill is a direct threat to all of us. It’s a gift to corporates. It favours privatisation & cuts to public services. If there’s one thing you do this weekend, make a submission and get a mate to do one too. Closes 1pm, Mon 23 June 2025. #NZPol

Time for a little bump since this attractive fellow is released digitally today!

There it is, ACT are running local candidates to get party command and control to oppose climate change measures through local democratic mandate.

Having written a book on the history of passenger rail in NZ, I am familiar with a LOT of boneheaded transport decisions that had serious negative consequences for NZ, and the cancellation of the IREX ferry contract is looking like it will be right up there with the very worst of them

Slashing roles at Manatū Taonga. Gutting Te Ara. Axing digital history for schools. This isn’t just cost cutting. It’s this govt austerity version of burning books. A government that cares about the future wouldn’t erase the past. #HistoryMatters #TePātiMāori #NZPol

If we don't tell our own stories, we forget who we are. These fresh cuts save relatively little fiscally, but will cost us so much. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

As a web librarian I cannot stress enough how important websites like Te Ara, NZHistory, and the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography are for researchers of all kinds. These sites were built with the idea that they would exist in perpetuity for all New Zealanders to access.

Maybe small beer given everything else that’s happening today, but this is still worth noting locally…

I wrote about Scheidt, Gibbons and Hume – who sound like a particularly dubious firm of solicitors – for Jordi Savall and Hesperion's recent concert at the Southbank Centre. bynder.southbankcentre.co.uk/m/72b688dbb9...

Could be worse, I suppose

#RSB #nzpol Why submit? 🧵 by @tinangata.bsky.social 1. The wording in the coalition agreement has a loophole 2. NZ First haven't been enthusiastic about RSB 3. We need democratic record to reflect NZ doesn't want RSB 4. The number of submissions will help with a repeal 5. Do it for your mokopuna

A fantastic tool for anyone wanting to make a submission to the Regulatory Standards Bill: melanienelson.substack.com/p/new-sector...

1/4 Did you know that making a submission on the Regulatory Standards Bill is as simple as filling in two text boxes?

Incredible news for NZ cultural history researchers The first 20 years of the NZ Listener (1939-1959) are now available on NLNZ's Papers Past platform, through the editorships of Oliver Duff & Monte Holcroft paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/periodicals/...

My Listener column on the irrational and dangerous consequences of AT's interpretation of Simeon Brown's awful Speed Rule: 1500 Auckland roads having their speed limits increased because the nearby presence of a school was "a reason" for a previous reduction. www.nzherald.co.nz/the-listener...

CHILLING threats posed by #RSB not covered in other explainers. plz watch (whether you've submitted or not) #nzpol ❌ healthcare funds for elderly, disabled... coz economically 'non-productive' auē 🚨 information gathering... personal financial info must be released or face $$$ fines or *imprisonment*

With the Field Days starting today the agribusiness PR spin machine is kicking into high gear. We’ll hear lots of the same old lies and greenwash about the dairy industry carbon footprint and excuses for methane emissions. #nzpol But here are some hard truths👇

AoNZ peeps Please take a couple of minutes to oppose/reject the Regulatory Standards Bill. The RSB is not good for the environment, public health, pandemic preparedness or pandemic response. 🧵

another day in new zealand... another *glowing* piece on zuru's nick mowboy from a mainstream media outlet. a reminder, as always, on what zuru & mowbray are *really* about: 1) www.webworm.co/p/billionair... 2) www.webworm.co/p/glassdoor
