“If you use violence, then you have to have the force to defend yourself. That’s why we think that violence is the strength of the weak, because they don’t have arguments.” – Father Cristian Precht on opposition to Chile’s Pinochet—both a warning to revolutionaries and a critique of the regime

Protesting can feel good, but righteous indignation isn’t a substitute for power or strategy. Don’t fall for the false hope that ‘we just need 3.5% of the population’ to win. That number is mostly true believers. Real power will come from organizing those who aren’t involved—and those we can flip

“But is -3 all that bad? If 47% of people support him, perhaps the administration will still feel emboldened to pursue Trump’s agenda” How bad will it have to get for a critical mass to find it intolerable?

Most Americans aren’t political junkies like us, but this admin is going to create a lot of addicts

Ward Carrol’s YouTube is great but apparently his Bsky has the added bonus of humor

Boeing gets NGAD (F-47). Trump says it has a speed of “two.” (That’s twice as fast as one.)

This vid of Rep. Hageman (R-WY) being booed at a Laramie town hall is making the rounds today. I’ve been to a lot of protests and town halls, and this seems more like a direct action protest than a true reflection of the crowd’s anger toward Hageman, Musk, and Trump. Why does that matter? 1/3

1/4 “Conservative critics describe them as ‘loyalty oaths’ that limit diversity of thought in academia.” While it’s clear the UC decision to end diversity statements is in response to the broader effort by the Trump admin to whitewash public institutions—something we should oppose—the Left...

Wait until all those Trump parents with kids on IEPs or 504 plans learn those plans are no longer enforceable. That’s got to be 2-3 million households. With Title I funds vanishing, the homework help parents will need to do will make the COVID remote learning they hated look like a walk in the park

🇹🇷 Mass protests continue in Turkiye against the arrest of Erdogan's main opponent - the mayor of Istanbul

This post is like a trailer for a dystopian movie. Definitely worth reading and sharing. Please give [email protected] a follow

What would Jane (McAlevey) do?

Pentagon has been ordering the removal of web site references to General Colin Powell and the Tuskegee Airmen and one of the flag-raisers at Iwo Jima as part of a crackdown on DEI. Have you no shame Pete Hegseth?(hat tip to Task and Purpose, WaPo for reporting) youtube.com/shorts/0HJpe...
