You aren’t alone in feeling this, remote learning can be an impossibly disruptive thing at home. It requires so much physical and mental energy from the parents and kids. It’s a totally valid complaint, drowning is drowning, no matter the cause. 💜

I have experienced this as well, people always are full of advice and tips, from curators to friends and family and clients. I am finally to the point where I just paint for myself and yes it does feel wonderful.

As a person of faith who used to find comfort in that statement, I normally just find bigotry and an our way or the hi-way attitude anywhere where they feel the need to advertise that they have Christian values. At this point it is virtue signalling and not a statement of values or caring.

I can’t agree with this more, art speaks to people where they are at, they can imagine what I was going for, but it will never be more real than allowing their own experience to translate. Even if that means they end up not liking it.

When we look around and find no culture, it just means we have overlooked Campbell soup as the cultural powerhouse that it is. (I say this in jest but it’s kinda true, in a kind of cream of mushroom with less salt way.)

As someone who body stops them from doing art on the regular, I understand this. I hope you feel better soon and if not it’s ok

The post on my feed that was directly above this was an artistic rendering of a dinosaur, I thought it was appropriate.

I agree, there is a lack of dusty romance to it, even though it is just as taxing and just as rewarding

I’m in this picture and I do not like it.

Everytime I hear about this I feel like there is a smoke show going on, like things seem sus.

I absolutely agree. It’s one of those ones that puts me into a certain mood everytime I hear it, not matter what else is going on

As I have deconstructed I have found great comfort in the thought of something, something unknown, but not malicious or punitive. I sat with my first husband as he passed and we had a very frank but eye opening and good conversation about it, if you want to I will share with you.

Agreed! Fading into the background sometimes and letting your kids just be is a hidden superpower
