The state has been captured and is being stripped for parts, folks. www.cnn.com/2025/02/27/b...

just gonna be the thousandth person to remind you all that segregationists start the open bigotry with people they feel they can target most easily but do not end there

Undocumented immigrants paid about $26 billion per year into Social Security, even though they will get nothing out of it. They subsidize citizens to an extraordinary degree. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/13/b...

Donald Trump just helped free Andrew Tate from his rape and human trafficking charges. Tate has bragged about grabbing women by their necks, breaking their jaws, and said “I am absolutely a misogynist.”

Since I have defended and supported the WaPo in the months since the election and the infamous pulled endorsement, I feel obliged to say: this is very, very bad. A dear friend at a Post vet says it's the worst thing to happen to the Post in its long history, and I can't argue.

"Judge-shopping is an affront to the rule of law" hmmm will somebody tell the federal district courts in Texas www.reuters.com/legal/govern...

BIG: DC Metro Police decided they had sufficient evidence to arrest sitting GOP Congressman and sent warrant request to USATTY's office. Acting USATTY Martin, who's been explicitly acting as Trump's personal attorney, ignored it. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/big-b...

An objectively accurate description would be they are "stealing money," or if you want to be a bit drier, "illegally impounding funds," but "spending cuts" is not what's happening because Trump/Musk have no authority to "cut" appropriations as in the same term we'd use to speak of Congress doing it.

New MSNBC Bloodbath of Non-White Anchors After Joy Reid Forced Out

For those following the story of unidentified men violently dragging a protester from a local Idaho GOP meeting, it turns out they were from a private security firm called LEAR Asset Management. But neither the sheriff (who watched it all go down) or the GOP will take responsibility for hiring them.

“Were they dying from chronic disease or were they dying from Covid” Covid. They died from Covid This is health supremacy. Chronic illness is not someone’s fault. Disability can’t be fixed with diet & exercise. We’re no less deserving of life This is escalating eugenics and it won’t stop with us

so is Harper’s gonna write a letter saying people should be allowed to say the truth out loud without losing their job or being persecuted by the government? when are they all gonna sign that one

NO KINGS NO NAZIS gets you like 80% approval and does a solid 60% of what we want to do

"During the meeting, Ukraine was told it faced imminent shutoff of the Starlink service if it did not reach a deal on critical minerals, said the source, who requested anonymity to discuss closed negotiations." Astonishing betrayal of an ally. www.reuters.com/business/us-...

Most insane felony murder charge I've ever heard of: some people were drinking and watching sports; at the end of the game, a fan of the winning team fired a gun in the air in celebration. Police investigating a report of gunshots kill an unnarmed teenage girl two blocks away. Felony murder charge.

yooo I was just cited in a federal opinion & I'm ecstatic! I argued that the Supreme Court's originalist guns jurisprudence is asinine so lower court judges don't know how to apply it, & in footnote 17 this judge is like YEAH lmao www.scribd.com/document/823... ballsandstrikes.org/scotus/secon...

In 2010, the Supreme Court paved the way for unlimited spending in U.S. elections. In a possibly related story, the richest man in the world is basically the president now ballsandstrikes.org/law-politics...

🦊 Friday was my last day working at 18F. It was a team of extraordinary people, but a few things happened that made me realize I had to leave. Everything happens so much these days, so I thought I’d write down for myself what happened, and how I made my decision: ethanmarcotte.com/wrote/leavin...

It was an honor to sign the guest book in the home of Anne Frank. I was here as a younger man and thought about her life as a dark chapter of history. Today, I can’t help but think of her story as one of caution. Our world is fragile, and it’s incumbent on us not to break it.

In 2024, the NLRB filed a complaint against Tesla for interfering in a union drive at their Buffalo, NY assembly plant. Today:

the line about how trump is just trolling or joking about the “king” thing is belied somewhat by the fact that his administration’s explicit position is he can do whatever he wants and that everyone in every branch of government needs to bow to his demands or be banished

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers wants his state to become the first state to audit insurance companies over denying coverage. More of this, Democrats.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is Trying to Segregate Starbucks I wrote about it for @ballsandstrikes.org ballsandstrikes.org/law-politics...

I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

I understand why these stories exist but it’s important to be clear that he’s not “saving” 16 billion, he’s choosing, personally, without oversight, to wipe out 16 billion dollars of government services to veterans and the disabled and food safety etc etc

Hey did you know the Supreme Court helped Trump win the presidency in a lotta ways? It’s not great! Report I wrote for People’s Parity Action: peoplesparityaction.org/wp-content/u...

Crockett: "It's just that they're idiots. These are the same guys as it relates to our nuclear stockpile, they're like, 'Oh, wait a minute, we needed those guys? Can we get them back? Oh, we don't know how to.' I don't know how anyone can look at this administration & feel a semblance of confidence"

The Supreme Court helped Trump win the presidency. We can't forget or normalize this, even if the Court reverses some of Trump/Musk's most egregious acts in the months & years to come. I wrote about this for People's Parity Project Action! 1/x peoplesparityaction.org/research/

If it were a movie, people would roll their eyes at how overdone it was. The man who ascended to the presidency by firing people on TV is about to have the first case of his second term argued at the Supreme Court. The issue? Whether he has the 'unrestricted power' to fire his critics. (1/3)

NEW REPORT from PPPAction on how SCOTUS delivered a would-be king & a constitutional crisis, one decision at a time--and what we can do about it. @jennyhunter.bsky.social @mollycoleman.bsky.social

“There are currently four people remaining over there to do the work of 15 people. The danger to the national airspace can’t be understated." "This is a very real threat to the American flying public.” EXCLUSIVE ⤵️
