Assassins used to dress like ninjas because they needed to be invisible to kill people and get away with it. Today, they just wear cop uniforms because you can kill people right out in the open. Welcome to America, 2025.

Handed Jason Alexander his glasses on a flight to Charlotte after he dropped them. Moved seats so Christian McCaffrey and his dad could sit together on a flight from Denver to Charlotte. All my celebrity interactions are on planes.

Shout out to all my work colleagues who have to deal with me gushing about my oldest son graduating today. I'm not remotely sorry.

There are few things that make me madder than having to follow supposed professionals around and make sure they aren't cutting corners or covering up mistakes. Always fun to both pay the bill AND be the bad guy. 🤬

Sounds like my kids' suburban high school, get the fuck out of here with this racist shit.

Bsky tags for the win.

I mute/block everyone who shares their Substack link. Too many other options, too much clear evidence of bad behavior.

Fact. For those who have ever been involved, if there's anything in an executive keynote that gets more than 5 minutes of airtime, it's something the C-suite demanded.

Your regular reminder that the entire global economy is subject to the whipsaw whims of a person who doesn’t understand how the global economy works

Leave it to @lbugnion.ch to turn a random hotel lobby encounter into one of the few moments of genuine joy this week. Just a good human being, and every time I see him we pick up right where we left off, no matter how much time has passed. 🙏

I've just started blocking people pushing links to their Substack. There's too much evidence of Substack's bad behavior, and too many other options to reward anyone for continuing to use that platform. It sucks to lose some good voices, but at some point you can't reward willfully bad behavior.

"I put my thoughts in this Substack post"

I feel like the gap between "we take these actions and we align with these technologies because the stock market likes it" and "we work to delight our customers" has never been wider. Late stage capitalism is just insane.

I feel like I've officially reached the age where dying becomes a real thing that you have to acknowledge. I used to be invincible. Now I'm just human. And old. Hooray to the next adventure.

I had a friend come visit today. He is also old, but we had a good time catching up.

There are a lot of incredibly talented people on the job market right now. Many of my friends in DevRel, OSPO, program management, and engineering are looking for their next role, some have been searching for months. If you’re hiring, please consider sharing a link to your open roles below. TY ❤️

Police shouldn't be allowed to mask to avoid accountability for their actions. Especially federal police doing official work in public.

I just said "All my idealism has been beaten out of me" out loud. And meant it. That makes me very sad.

My power company keeps sending me "efficiency kits" which are basically giant boxes of light bulbs. I don't need any more fucking light bulbs! What do y'all do with perfectly good lightbulbs you don't need? Goodwill? Recycle?

I'm betting you go back to the founding and explain how much trouble the "anyone" part was going to cause, and they change it to "ME" and go about their business. This country was built by and for white men, and anything inclusive that has happened since was an accident seized on by good humans.

They lie like breathing.

I kept thinking, as I'm reading this thread, there's no way this is the first time this lady has been a gigantic asshole....and I was right. Block and move on. It's the Bsky way.

Movie you've watched more than six times using gifs. ("Hard mode" no Star Wars, Star Trek, or LoTR)

There are states (mine included) that have laws allowing residents pretty wide lattitude to defend their homes with deadly force. This unconstitutional bullshit is going to get people killed.

$595m in taxpayer subsidized corporate welfare as your only financial bright spot would probably get any other CEO fired.

The most amazing example of mediocre white man confidence is Elon Musk thinking that spending MORE time with Tesla is going to turn things around. My dude, you ARE the problem. How does everyone on earth get that except you? Want to make that stock valuable again? Resign.

This is the same problem I had with Amazon's "document first" culture. It's designed to encourage tearing down something another human created as a sign of being "calibrated" to the process. We'd shit on docs in public all the time, but never praise them except faintly.

It's one of those nights I wish I had a notebook with graph paper. Need to pick up a new piece of birch plywood tomorrow, cut it down to size, make the mounting cuts, build the wiring harnesses, and then I'll have amp and volt meters for every AC & DC power feed on the train layout. 🚂

Good work, Texas.

Just a Friday heads up for everyone out there looking for something calm: there are entire American Top 40 shows on YouTube right this minute, and Casey Kasem's voice is soothing to a ridiculous degree. Here's one from October of 1986. It's glorious. youtu.be/4qmf-ra5JZA?...

Man, I needed this. Let's all be the voice in the back of the room this weekend. www.instagram.com/reel/DIfDQp5...

To all my trans friends, I love you very much. 🫶🏳️‍⚧️

No more DMs? How will Elon find love?

I often see people complain about having to give professional feedback to others, especially in the context of annual reviews. I'm the exact opposite. This is one of my favorite parts of my job, and I spend a lot of time to make the feedback honest and meaningful. The people I work with deserve it.

Hey @jeffjacksonnc.bsky.social, I know you won't take any credit for this, but I hope you see the influence your time in Congress and on social media is having on the best of your Democratic colleagues. Thank you for showing you can just...TALK to people. 🙌
