Taxing the rich more literally feeds starving children

Great talk comparing and contrasting the age of print and the internet with @jeffjarvis.bsky.social Thanks for posting about it @craignewmark.bsky.social 💡Left inspired and fascinated by the concept of engagement journalism.

.@jeffjarvis is talking about his new book, The Gutenberg Parenthesis, at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco on July 25. He's afraid of an empty audience. Can you sign up to come in person (but it's also streamed). Use the code JARVISCWC for $10 off.

You know what? If you read this post, I hope you can think of one thing that makes you genuinely happy today. If you can't think of one, get outside and find something! Give something at the expense of yourself with no expectation of anything in return. I promise it will make you feel good. ✌️

Scrolling the skyline, it’s obvious that Black people and LGBTQIA+ people are the backbone of the content creation here. It’s not surprising, given the level of vitriol on twitter, that those are the communities searching for a better platform.

Some blueberries for bluesky. #WeFeedYou

This song always brigtens my day! ☀️ @reginawalton.com lets have a dance party soon! https://youtu.be/uIbXvaE39wM

consider that bluesky might be an opportunity to diversify the voices you listen to. since you have to start fresh with a brand new following list, why not be very intentional about how you curate it? (i say this with the understanding that some people do indeed intend homogeneity in their networks)
