A taco truck on every corner is the dream, folks. New truck dropped at Delridge and Orchard. Damn it’s good. 😊

Fuck it I’m going in. Got more tools than hands if anyone wants to join. Delridge and Myrtle.

One thing I’ve learned in doing all the cleanup work that I do is that there is a path through this jungle because despite the state of it, people use it. If they didn’t, it would be completely overgrown. It’s the pedestrian traffic treading on the overgrowth that keeps it as open as it still is. 💔

Not a backwoods in the countryside; the state of the sidewalks on Delridge Way SW (in this case at SW Myrtle St, many places like this). Maybe we can spend a few bucks to maintain our non-car infrastructure rather than spending millions removing safety features to benefit a few car drivers, CM Saka?

I rode a bicycle from Washington to well into Montana. I'll write something more later, but now that I am back home I can share a few thoughts on my ride from Spokane to Whitefish. It was ~500 miles en route, and a total of ~600 miles door to door. I'd do it again exactly the same way.

Lasted about 60 seconds back in Seattle before slapping a car for blocking a crosswalk.

I am seriously thinking about biking the entire Amtrak Empire Builder route (each segment indirect, picking up the nearby interesting stuff) in pieces of 10-15 days.

Alright y’all, it’s been fun but it’s almost time to go home. Nobody guessed this as my last move… y’all need to get up to speed on your transit nerdery. I am meeting up with the Empire Builder route in Whitefish, Montana to catch a ride back to Seattle late tonight. Transit trekking ftw. 🚲 🤝 🚂 ❤️

Downtown Kalispell, Main Street is US-93 and you better bet nobody becomes more patient as the freeway turns into a downtown pedestrian corridor lined with shops. Fuck we ruined so many cities.

It is so nice in Kalispell today, partly cloudy and quite cool after early morning rains. 🚲 ❤️

Suburbia. Because fuck wheels of any sort right?

I wasn’t happy with part of my route today, but that happens. I have arrived in Kalispell.

I think I am going to get rained on but for now I’ll enjoy the cool breeze.

It is finally time to make use of the swimming shorts I’ve carried on bike for 500 miles.

FWIW, the vibe difference responding to my bike journey between the native folks (“that’s amazing/awesome, I hope you love it here, be safe!” + route tips) vs the white folks (“why would you do this?” or “I would never do that”) here in Montana on the Salish/Kootenai (CSKT) lands is palpable.

Might’ve let someone believe I’m from Spokane to avoid the “Seattle is a hellscape” talk with a Texan

Alright I know they call this place “Big Sky” but it’s kinda ridiculous.

I love how big mountains make a place look not real.

As I was riding today I was giggling about the macho dude arguing with me on here yesterday about an “average cyclist” being able to maintain a 15 mph pace, claiming that biking 300 miles should take 12-20 hours (which is a 15-25 mph average). Nahhhhhhh. No way. So many things wrong with this.
