I just read that Tom Robbins passed. His novel Even Cowgirls Get the Blues opened my eyes to a much more complex and playful world than the sheltered life I had experienced my first 18 years. I'm always grateful for this.

I'm watching an atmospheric horror picture with the 5 year old. She's about the creeps. At one point, she curled up against my side and said she wasn't scared. She was using me as a pillow.
