I’ll probably think about this exhibit for the rest of my life. I knew about Ai Weiwei only as “the dissident Chinese artist” who was imprisoned by Chinese authorities. Which is totally notable on its own. But oh man, is he a genius. So much more than a subversive reported on by mainstream media.

RIP Val Kilmer. This sounds ridiculous but Top Gun is the first movie I can remember watching. I’ve probably seen it more than any other movie. One of the best to ever do it.

In a passionate public hearing last night, the City Council decided it will not appeal that court ruling but it has directed the city manager to implement safety measures.
