No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.

Barriers.

Visit to a staged retrofit of an Edwardian terrace. Airtightness and insulation being installed to the cellar ceiling and stairs

Thursday night met up with old school friends in Manchester reliving our youth watching @thebooradleys.bsky.social

An evening networking in Stockport. Thanks to Anne Marie of Undrrbanks property and Kelsall Architects

Well done Victoria Derbyshire.!

Daniel Sturrage is a very good pundit. First time I have seen him in this role.

Back to visit clients on a project completed pre covid.

Enjoyed a very informative tour around York Council's mixed tenure Passivhaus housing currently under construction. Great to see good medium density terraces with generous open space and strategies for car club/ sharing reducing parking provision to 0.5 spaces per dwelling. Thankyou to CYC.

Trump has clearly not spoken to a single Palestinian about this plan. Gaza is our land. Palestine is our home. Peace cannot come at the cost of our country. I urge the UK and the whole international community to resist him. Recognise Palestine now, before it's too late.

Joyful Hockney

At the #AECB North west event, hearing about Retrofit at scale from Rachel Owens of The Retrofit Hub and James Traynor of ECD architects. Great strategies for Retrofit to reduce energy costs, improve health and wellbeing and move from gas to electricity.

This year's strava totals. Mostly commuting between New Mills and Stockport

Taking a moment to cogitate over language choices for killing a dog which seem more condemnatory than language used when a person is killed by a driver

Dan bank in Marple has turned into an ice rink. Nothing moving. Got off the bus and now walking to work.

Snow in Disley gets a mention on the BBC weather forecast.

Some thoughts on how a series of modest reforms to the planning system could boost the supply of new housing featured in @news.architectsjournal.co.uk today. www.architectsjournal.co.uk/news/four-id...

Just explaining to my youngest son how to heat up a tagine with couscous and hoping it's in an edible state when I get home.

Since yesterday I've been informed of a few teams who have accounts here - not posting as yet but we can live in hope 🙏 Follow them to show there is an audience here and maybe we'll persuade them #CyclingBlueSky @ineosgrenadiers.bsky.social @dsmfirmpostnl.bsky.social @greenedgecycling.bsky.social

Mass deportations “no matter the cost” is what Trump is promising. For once we’re getting at something: the cost will be unfathomable. For families torn apart & lives devastated. But also for taxpayers funding a police state & the economy denied needed workers. Hate has a cost. #r4today

Ebikes are real bikes and they’re great because they get more people on bikes.

Reaching the Government's 1.5m new homes target will need support to deliver diversity in the market & specifically much more support for SME housebuilders. Read the suggestions on how to do this in the @Radix_UK report published last week - practical solutions with real impact!

From The Condition of the working-class in England (1844) by Engels. He slags off Stockport and doesn't even mention our wonderful Stockport Pyramid - just rude.

A great day out with Club Peleton, riding round North Manchester whilst networking with fellow construction professionals. We even had the Club Peleton van supporting us, plus a chance encounter with Jimmy Cricket.

Catching up on the Exact Cross. First race of the season and controversy already. Iserbit DQ'ed for stamping on and breaking Kamp's rear mech. Van der Haar on top. Good to see Toon Aerts back. #Crossisboss

Please support this important campaign: www.megaphone.org.uk/petitions/ma... I used the bus this morning instead of driving. Let's not lose this incentive to get more people using buses and get more cars off the road.

“Despite all the well-known harmful side effects of driving, an important social cost is often overlooked: the opportunity cost of not walking or cycling, including to public transport stops.” Excellent summary from LSE on the need to focus on health in delivering transport policies

Every time someone chooses cycling over driving for one kilometer society is €1,35 richer. Through safer streets, cleaner air, lighter traffic, higher productivity, and cheaper medical and maintenance bills. Shouldn’t governments do everything in their power to enable that choice?

Reflections and shadows at Mountpleasant. Dwelling and surrounding landscape now completed. Awaiting completion of outdoor cafe in Old Sunday School which isn't far off. Image courtesy of our client and taken this morning.

Out for an evening of music in Torr Vale Mill
