Had to run an errand tonight, saw a train too

perhaps it was inevitable, but now we know how the Civil War finally begins www.inquirer.com/real-estate/...

Today, we unveiled our newest heritage unit! 🚂 While restoring Locomotive 222, we saw an opportunity to give it a new identity. Now, it joins our fleet in the classic New Haven Railroad colors from the early 20th century. Stay tuned for further details!

amazing how New York Times editors seem to regularly do this thing that would've gotten me fired from most jobs I've had

"My illegal product isn't working illegally!" Why is CBS reporting this as news? Imagine CBS reporting on someone's drugs being fakes that don't get them high www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news...

MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber has a message for New Yorkers: Congestion pricing is working, and it’s making New York a better place.

I fucking called this, here's what I told the theys on the discord six hours ago

Murphy simply cannot back down from repeated legal challenges. It's okay to admit you lost the ballgame, you don't have to resort to begging and pleading for the feds to illegally try and halt Congestion Pricing so a few tens of thousands of NJers can drive into Manhattan's core!

New litmus test - if you endorse an illegal action by the Trump/Musk administration because it leads to an outcome you like, you are a Quisling and should be kicked out of the party.

Gov. Hochul: "Think about this next time you're stuck in traffic." www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhFl...

The South Shore Line from South Bend, Indiana to Chicago is REALLY cool...but our trip on it was a disaster! youtu.be/nrGL4uireaA

NEW YORK GOVERNOR HOCHUL:THIS IS AN ATTACK ON OUR SOVEREIGN IDENTITY AND INDEPENDENCE FROM WASHINGTON

Hochul indicates she’ll fight on congestion pricing.

The subway is a crime-ridden hellhole only used by the wealthiest elite Ivy League libs is really the perfect example of how completely irrational all Republican messaging is

it is hard for people not in the weeds of NY politics to understand that "the Brooklyn Democratic Party" is not representative of Democratic voters or national dems, but a corrupt ring of like 100 insanely corrupt people who have seized the mechanics of organizational control and won't let go.

MTA suggesting that you'd need to go through NEPA to shut down congestion pricing is lol, dare I say it, L M A O storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Statement from MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber regarding legal filing to continue benefits of the congestion pricing program: www.mta.info/press-releas...

Additionally, in its legal filing, the MTA stated that in order to revoke the VPPP, the USDOT would need to complete a new EIS to demonstrate that re-increasing congestion in the CBD would have no significant impacts on the environment.

This is huge: the MTA just filed a suit against Sean Duffy (Metropolitan Transportation Authority v. Duffy), and notably, in the filing, said they will continue Congestion Pricing as it currently stands while the legal challenge plays out

MTA to Feds: Drop dead

in his statement "cancelling" congestion pricing, sean duffy calls people who ride the subway "an elite few" and i just feel as a communication professional that they gotta decide if they're going with that or crime-ridden drug den homeless shelter

Pretty notable that Sean Duffy can't even get the name of the agency he's trying to illegally exert power over correct, calling the MTA the "Metropolitan Transit Authority" in the letter from USDOT

Absolutely lol'ing at the notion the toll was set to fund the MTA's capital budget and not reduce traffic when the enacted toll is just 60% of the revenue target toll and has produced a sharp reduction in traffic. ANYWAYS

trump to MTA bondholders: drop dead nypost.com/2025/02/19/u...

DOT out with a press release on its attempt to terminate the Congestion Relief Zone approval. The only response from MTA should be a 🖕 followed by "see you in court."

Riders won congestion relief and are now enjoying faster, more reliable bus service throughout New York and New Jersey. We've organized for a decade and prevailed in court in three states achieve a historic victory, and will continue to defend it with everything we have.

Before NYC DOT redesigned Third Avenue in 2023, the anti-bike lane crowd was pretty loud on The Other Site. Since then, we've seen dramatic safety gains AND a 79% increase in cycling. Data: -33.3% drop in total injuries -42.9% drop in motor vehicle injuries -54.3% drop in ped injuries
