IX - The Hermit
The hermit with his lantern seeks solitude for self-reflection, soulsearching, and contemplation of the higher mysteries.
Elan Lugh, when he's not being a furry, sits in his tower where he can ponder many things, free from the torments of his first life.

Like I get what Fujimoto is doing. I don't like the way he's going about it, though. Feels sloppy compared to similar beats in the first part of the story.

Will probably take a break from it and come back in a few months. Maybe that'll make the pacing work better.

Not to mention a heaping helping of technocratic elitism. Utterly baffling that the same guys who wrote the Expanse could produce something like this. I'm actually angry about it.

At best it's a story of naive liberalism and "working within the system" as the only viable answer to colonial violence. But my less-charitable reading sees this as a celebration of the collaborator and Great Man Individualism, and an appeal against revolutionary direct action

The other day he compared the Moon Gundam HG to crack hitting the streets in the 80s. And like. Bruh.

Debating whether I wanna post about this on the other site and deal with his usual "Heeeeeey I'm just a widdle guy, I didn't mean anything 😮💨" schtick or just passive aggressively complain on here lol
