I had no idea so many bills have reached Royal Assent and a lot of these bills are going to really help our country, like the Renters Bill and nationalising railways.

I really hope we can keep Reform UK out of Kent County Council, or at least prevent them from a majority. I voted Green! 💚

Article by Brian McDaid for Yorkshire Bylines. We need to empower young people and address the wealth inequality in our country to ensure politics is for the many, not the few. yorkshirebylines.co.uk/politics/reb...

So grateful to see Labour MPs rebelling against their party to stand in solidarity with Disabled people and their families. Thank you, Neil Duncan-Jordan!

Let’s keep this going ✊ petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72...

TK Adisa and Lotta P argue that any new mass socialist formation must be based on class politics that takes liberation seriously and recognises the materiality of oppression. revsoc21.uk/2025/04/25/n...

#DRC: Doctors Without Borders condemns the killing of our colleague in Masisi, on April 18. This marks our third staff member killed in North Kivu this year. We call on authorities to ensure the safety of civilians and humanitarian workers. ow.ly/yZKT50VHl0a

All disabled people are deserving of life, love & care. The narrative that “low functioning” people who don’t pay taxes, won’t serve in the military & can’t live independently are somehow expendable is deeply rooted in eugenics. A person’s worth isn’t tied to their health or economic contribution

Amnesty just slammed the DWP as 'consciously cruel' in scathing new report "Lives are being ruined by a system that is cruel... the DWP erodes dignity by design. We are in a state of severe human rights violations". Amnesty's words, not ours. www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/...

Topless blockade at RAF Lakenheath sees activists take a stand Women, intersex, non-binary and trans activists denounced the deadly war, climate, and human rights entanglements that RAF Lakenheath represents www.thecanary.co/uk/news/2025...

Happy to hear that executives and directors should be prosecuted for covering up these illegal sewage spills. I do hope we nationalise water soon!

I've already been too sick to work for half of this year - and Liz Kendall wants to cut my DWP PIP? Canary writer Nicola Jeffery lost nearly 7 weeks of her life this year due to her chronic illnesses & Labour thinks cutting her PIP is going to make her work MORE??? www.thecanary.co/opinion/2025...

Gary Lineker just 'Chomskied' Amol Rajan over BBC coverage of Israel - and the MSM ignored it Amol Rajan was left spouting Zionist propaganda as Gary Lineker effortlessly skewered the BBC over its pro-Israel bias www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/...

Disabled people who can work are worthy. Disabled people who cannot work are worthy. Disabled people who are completely independent are worthy. Disabled people who rely on others for assistance are worthy. ALL disabled people are worthy.

Of the 580,000 people on LCWRA but not PIP, 44% have mental health conditions. That’s 255,000 relying on £423.27/month to cover essentials like rent, utilities, and food—reducing financial stress, a huge trigger for mental health deterioration. #ProtectLCWRA. #WelfareNotWarfare

The government has borrowed a bit more than expected. Thank goodness for that. www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/04...

Charities warn 4,800,000 children will be in poverty by 2029 if the two-child benefit cap stays. A Labour government increasing record child poverty isn’t just cruel — it’s political suicide. Time to scrap the cap, tax the super-rich and choose children — not austerity.

Palestine Action just forced ANOTHER company to cut ties with Elbit Palestine Action's concerted direct action has forced Dean Group International to sever all ties with Elbit's UK subsidiary Instro Precision www.thecanary.co/uk/news/2025...

The Citizen's Arrest Network: a new direct action group fighting the CEOs of big polluters A new campaign group has targeted the CEOs of companies like BP and Shell with citizen's arrests to hold big polluters accountable. We are here for this!!! www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/...

Keir Starmer dug a hole with his Pope Francis tribute - and promptly jumped straight into it Jesus overturned tables of money in a piece of direct action. So, for Starmer to pay tribute to Pope Francis in the way he did is the height of hypocrisy. www.thecanary.co/trending/202...

Well, if it isn’t the consequences of his own actions!

Edinburgh just came out in force against the Supreme Court's roll-back of trans women's rights Members of the public in Edinburgh came out to protest against the Supreme Court's roll-back of rights for trans communities in the UK www.thecanary.co/uk/news/2025...

Labour has had FOUR times the private healthcare donations of every other party Evidently, the private healthcare sector thinks Labour is the right horse to back, namely NHS privatisation - because Starmer's party has taken a staggering amount of money from it www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/...

This is the result of fascism. People should be allowed to criticise their government without fearing arrest. I hope Ekaterina Barabash can find safety.

Tax the rich so we can fund our social care system, make sure people have a living wage, and a decent quality of life.

We really need people spreading anti-immigrant rhetoric to understand that immigrants are people, and some may even save your life. That’s not to say we shouldn’t be compassionate to immigrants who can’t save our lives, because, at the end of the day, we’re all human!

Your worth is not your productivity! tribunemag.co.uk/2025/04/your...

We need more compassion for asylum seekers. The Labour government and some opposing parties are spouting harmful rhetoric which is adding fuel to the xenophobic fire.

Reminder: addiction is not a moral failing. It is a survival strategy for living under an oppressive capitalist system.

Correction: the court have ringfenced the rights of women to cis women only. Trans women are being stigmatised just for being who they are.

This policy is completely wrong and we need a complete rethink of how to save money. Let’s start by implementing a 2% wealth tax on assets above £10 million!
