I read the cited EO and I don't see where it requires universities to do this. Wouldn't surprise me that our Republican-appointed BoG is being over-compliant.

Wondering if one thing we can do is encourage undergrads to stay enrolled and keep registering for these courses as a political statement that will help threatened departments and disciplines survive.

"Dangerous lack of imagination" is such a good phrase. I was bothered by the same thing during the our university's response to Covid (and now, of course). Our "leaders" have no ideas and can't lead, and they don't think to turn to all the smart, creative people who work for them

He's Baltic German, so not sure how it relates to current Hochdeutsch. Also not sure what to do with the Ue, but your version is what I have been saying in presentations and nobody has laughed at me.
