Thanks for the interesting thread @theferocity.bsky.social Cool facts and info here folks:

"Researchers are recognizing that chronic pain can be a disease in its own right: a disorder that happens when the nerves in our body — either peripheral ones, like those in our limbs, or central ones, like those running from our spinal cord to our brain — become hyperactive, or “sensitized.”...."

Can anyone recommend scholarship on early Christian/late antique medical texts? If they happen to include women’s reproductive health that would be great too!

When writing alt text, focus on what's truly important. In an image with text about a canceled event, the borders of the image are not nearly as vital as conveying that this event is now canceled. A decorative border can be mentioned, but it's not the most important element.

Staying at my parents cute little (old) farmhouse they bought when they retired. Helping them out for a few days w/ my sister doing the same. I love to hike & camp & be outdoors, but I’ve never been more aware of my city girl lifelong existence than I have this week. Everything is just harder here.

Batsignal for historians that teach large undergraduate surveys: Among other exercises, I would like my students to group-build a timeline over the semester, ideally arguing a lot about themes and categories and fuzziness. Does any web-based tool for this exist? 🗃️ #history #skystorians

I hate blue M&Ms. I can taste the paint. Husband was on a business trip sometime back where there was some sort of museum or store to buy all the colors. He brought me an eclectic bag (~1 LB) of M&Ms with absolutely no blues of any kind. I love chocolate. I won’t eat these. They make me smile.
