Gareth Hughes I think I have you too few props as and MP but this is a heck of a line

You can tell that the NZ Free Speech Union is not, in fact, in favour of free speech when they come out in support of a report that would make a criminal act of failing to notify authorities of a protest in advance. #nzpol

Our sick kick flips and righteous 720s are unbeatable

Why did Chris Penk refuse to rename Manawatū and Pito One? I asked for the documentation under the #OIA, and the record of why he made the decision he did is... nonexistent. legacy.www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

KIDS hitchhiking to school because there's no school bus or funding. In-fucking-sane and extremely dangerous. So who is at fault? Your local garden variety Scrooge politicians, it seems. #nzpol #notfittogovernnz #chrisluxon #nationalparty www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/hawkes-ba...

The new Local Government (Water Services) Bill seeks to take precedent over Treaty settlements - a hugely problematic direction for the government to be taking. Here's the excerpt from Hamilton City Council's draft submission which talks about how it effects the Waikato-Tainui settlement.

I do believe that the greater public are onto David Seymour and his social media stirring #NZPol

NZ is deep in recession, and times like this Govts typically step up and pump some cash into the economy to fill the gaps in private sector spending. A great project would be to offer school lunch contracts to local businesses to keep ppl off the dole & get money into the local economy hang on.

📢 Almost four out of five people in Aotearoa want respectful discussion on Te Tiriti rather than political rhetoric, survey shows. 👉 Latest news bot: Hawke's Bay News

New Zealand media, struggling for factual credibility STILL using Curia polls, despite company resigning/being suspended by Research Association NZ. And our news networks wonder why New Zealanders don't trust them... open.substack.com/pub/mountain...

Government of free speech aye

The judge saying that one of the reasons he didn't convict was because then the officer would have to tell people he lost his job for punching a 14 year old girl is a pathetic response

No surprises here #nzpol www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3605...

A main story on the Herald today is ‘Hungry kids trailing peers by up to four years in maths, science’ It would seem that instead of new maths books printed by Nat donors, doing something about poverty and hunger would bring up educational achievement. 👀 I bet no one has thought of that before.

Unable or unwilling to devote the time and resources?

3 down 3 to go

How does a tiny “local” neoliberal union, that operates almost entirely online in AotearoaNZ, achieve over $2.6Million in donations alone I wonder? 💭🙄 #AtlasNetwork You can’t tell me this horrific coalition government wasn’t bought by foreign corporate stealth now. #nzpol #nz #NZpolitics

Mark Metekingi leads a haka outside the Court of Appeal in Wellington before a landmark case in 1987. The court found that the Crown breached the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Its judgement set out the first detailed outline of those principles. Ref EP/1987/2084/32a Alexander Turnbull Library

Nope-universities are not neutral. They're evidence-led. They stand for rigorous, evidenced claims, openness to scrutiny but consensus on facts. "Institutional neutrality" is a calling-card of rightwing orgs in the US, leading to policing classrooms & breaches of academic freedom. Don't fall for it

Response from Seymour of evidence that students are being pulled out of maths/English to do te reo: There are a few emails complaining about te reo being taught in schools but nothing that actually proves his claim. Going to email him claiming to be Ironman to see if he will go on QA and repeat it

We knew it was happening.... But such blatant corruption. Spend $100,000 on getting the National party elected, receive millions of public funds. Disgusting. #nzpol www.reddit.com/r/auckland/s...
