I'm stoked to see Preact! Early on, Remix aimed to be renderer-agnostic (or at least support multiple renderers) and I was 👀 the "support Preact" PRs so intently. We develop for low resource settings. SSR is fantastic for that but the JS for hydration was so heavy/intense that I'd 💭 of using jQuery

There's nothing holy about writing discrimination into the law.

GitHub MCP suffers from the lethal trifecta for prompt injection: access to private data, exposure to malicious instructions + the ability to exfiltrate information Be really careful with this stuff: attackers can trick your "agent" into stealing your private data simonwillison.net/2025/May/26/...

I feel like "Frank Lloyd Wright New Balances" must be in a "you so white" roast but ALSO that these things are if "Unfortunately, that is a bar" was a shoe.

TIL about @antfu.me's `drauu` utility. Handy! github.com/antfu/drauu

Fucking 20%?!

Cato has published my comprehensive review of the ~240 Venezuelans the US government renditioned 2 months ago to Salvador’s notorious prison. We identified FIFTY who came legally, never violated any immigration law, but are imprisoned at the US government’s request and at US taxpayer expense.

Just checked out stream.place which is open source livestreaming via the AT Protocol by @iame.li - stand it's incredible how smooth that works? Just uses your Bsky account and voila, everything is up and running. Wild.

We are beta testing a new feature with the @nba.com. If you click their profile picture when there’s a red border with a “live” callout below, you will be directed to the live content they are promoting. We aren’t trapping you in Bluesky. We want you to use Bluesky to discover what’s happening.

Val Town is one of my favorite communities on the web, feels like a spiritual descendent of @glitch.com. And @macwright.com using it to build a modern version of ThinkUp, the app @ginatrapani.org and I worked on a decade ago? I’m so moved! macwright.com/2025/05/16/t...

Georgia forcing the family of a brain dead Black woman to pay for her to remain on life support so the state can gestate her fetus is why we need pro-birth accountability laws that force a state to pay for all costs attending a forced birth. www.11alive.com/article/news...

Is anyone using GH Actions or similar to make sure PRs don't add TS errors compared to main? e.g. (when adopting TS and) main has errors and you want to hold the line or decrease errors; never increase github.com/snapshift/ac... used to work pretty well but it's 💀 and I can't find anything similar

Make macOS screenshots 💯% better with this 1 weird trick 1️⃣ Open `Screenshot` app 2️⃣ Click "Options ▾" 3️⃣ ✔️ Uncheck "Show Floating Thumbnail" 🎉

You’re allowed to argue that black people and women are genetically inferior. But you’re NOT allowed to argue they are NOT inferior because that’s divisive. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/09/u...

If you like my work, remember that praise doesn't pay for it... but you can! So please consider supporting it... and getting smarter with me! For example see how to code a cool animated cube with minimal HTML, under 30 #CSS declarations & an under 350 bytes #SVG #filter! ko-fi.com/post/Cool-CS...

This is essentially my entire M.O. as a software engineer

It's pretty funny that Trump has engineered a geo-political game of chicken between two societies - the US and China - where the winner will be the society most willing to withstand economic pain and inconveience in furtherance of some future national collective goal. Not really a US strong suit!

This, from a woman in Oklahoma talking to her local news station, is better than the vast majority of political speeches you'll hear today.

Extremely if grimly funny how Marc Andreessen's friends describe his frantic cultivation of countless interlocking spaces where he can hear his own prejudices endlessly repeated and deepened, free from any criticism, as a "hunger for information"

Honestly the thing about “biological sex” is that the *actual reality* of it is so fucking surprising sometimes and continues to surprise us on a regular basis And honestly it’s just all so cool and interesting and there’s so many unique bodies out there but we just gotta be WEIRD about it

This is great and I couldn't agree more with the section on whimsy: "Errors are moments of friction. Sometimes they’re unavoidable, but respecting our users means prioritising clarity and empathy - now is not the time to “inject personality”"
