In 2014, a Google engineer launched a petition proposing a national referendum. The first two points? 1. Retire all government employees with full pensions. 2. Transfer administrative authority to the tech industry. What a difference a decade can make!

please check out the magazine i’m a part of! were just a bunch of teachers teaching teachers! www.flipsnack.com/inlandareawr...

i’ve been revising all my old college writing, it’s such a joy to look back and see exactly how i felt on all these things.

you’re proud to not know a pulitzer prize winner?

every present sorrow seemeth chief

our vp, “uhhh the president has unlimited unchecked power, no branch is equal” or maybe you’re a pair of legislatively weak men who can’t lead your party to effectively do jack shit. the conservative movement is still a string of fringe politics loosely united under one party name.

maybe, to be a politician, you should have to pass a constitution exam like teachers do

that’s their go to for any man, trump inappropriately talking about teen pageant queens was just “boy talk” you can be a boy-child, fresh from mother’s womb at the ripe age of 75 if you’re white (or dyed orange) enough

my bookish hot take is i hate the cartoony covers for smutty romances. bring back FABIO!

one of my middle schoolers has been targeting latino students, which he tried to do in my class - but what burns me more is that my students shared he’s been doing this in his other classes and there hasn’t been any discipline response… we have an entire protocol for racism too…

in seventh grade, we spend a month learning about the triangle shirtwaist factory fire. my students are wiser than that blood emerald dickhead

as an ethnic studies educator, i’ve seen people admonish history months on both sides of the political spectrum. imho, celebrating historical figures is imperative to instilling a sense of hope in our students - but you should do this regularly through your content!

in honor of BHM, my students are learning about enforced illiteracy, or the act of withholding reading and writing education from enslaved and freed people—more specifically, in spite of that, these communities greatly contributed to America’s oral and storytelling traditions!

Kurt Vonnegut wrote 100+ short stories. In 1999, he revealed the secret to writing a good one. Here are his 8 rules: 1. Don't waste your reader's time. 2. Give the reader a character to root for. 3. Every character should want something. Even if it's only a glass of water. (Cont)

if only there was a guy named Chuck Schumer in the senate, if only!

I would really like someone who was, say, a Senate Minority Leader, to introduce a bill to prevent things like this from happening. Because Congress has that power. I understand that it might not pass Congress, given its current makeup.

SUBMISSION ARE OPEN!!! SEND US YOUR MICRO-CHAPS!!!

A great way to show support for trans and other marginalized writers is to request their books at your local library. Many libraries will order in books for you if you ask (though some may restrict requests to recent releases, etc). Here are some wonderful small presses that publish and support

"sorry but you should reading more books that aren't--" shut up. read whatever you want lmao. idgaf. buy books. support libraries. have fun. this isn't a job. (I mean it is, for me. but like, it doesn't have to be a job.)

i see a lot of “if no undocumenteds then say goodbye to your cheap fruit and veg 👿” ok kelly osborne 🙄
