The prior authorization was again denied from the peer to peer. When she came back to the clinic six months later, I was able to re-order her screening CT scan, which subsequently revealed metastatic lung cancer. She died six months later. This is why I am feeling this way today.

Prior authorization was denied while she was waiting for the scan. I was requested to do a peer to peer while I’m in clinic while the patient was waiting. I got on the phone to do the peer to peer, which took about one hour to even get someone on the phone. The patient decided to leave.
