Yes yes, repeat after me folks, of course the LA Fires reveal (again) the necessity and critical need to focus money, time, and energy on climate adaptation. But it cannot be either/or. MITIGATION--ie the rapid fossil fuel phase out--is how we survive and live in order to adapt. Both are necessary

All this is bad btw. Making hydrogen from one greenhouse gas (methane, which is obtained via the leaky, toxic process of fracking) and then burying the resulting other greenhouse gas (CO2, which is corrosive, also toxic, and doesn’t stay put) is dumb and inelegant. techcrunch.com/2025/01/03/h...
