Twice in the past two days I’ve had conversations with people who were grimly committed to the idea that all this pain was critical to reduce the national debt. In both cases, the person was completely unaware that Congress is planning to increase the debt by $4T.

Damn. It just dawned on me that with tarif fees being hidden in higher priced goods, I’m going to be paying sales taxes on that tariffed price. It’ll be a tax on a tax. Clearly “Liberation Day” is for the dollars that will be liberated from my wallet.
