UK charities urge ministers to stop scapegoating nature for planning failures

The 90% declines of Nightingale since the 1960s have been recorded by @btobirds.bsky.social #CBC and @bbs-birds.bsky.social volunteers. As well as woodland habitat and management changes in the UK, this tracking study also shows how non-breeding areas are just as important.

The UK’s national lead police officer on hunting crime believes the fox hunting ban is still frequently being violated. 🦊 #foxhunting #banfoxhunting #foxes #uknews #uklaw

Notable how the UK under Starmer sometimes, if you squint & mainline some hopium, can look briefly advantaged by being unhitched to the EU but then reality/Trump bites & you realise that Brexit, always an act of unutterable stupidity, has made an already awful situation immeasurably worse for us.

BREAKING: Emmanuel Macron: 'I want to believe US will stand by our side but we have to be ready for that not to be the case We need to be able to recognise the Russian threat & better defend ourselves in order to deter such attacks The future of Europe cannot be decided in Washington or Moscow'

The aftermath of the Russian attack on Odesa last night. A post office, private homes, civilian, energy and port objects were damaged. This is Russia's "readiness for peace."

When they say peace, they mean surrender.

Starmer, in reply to Farage in the Commons: "Can I just remind him that Russia is the aggressor. Zelensky is a war leader whose country has been invaded. And we should all be supporting him and not fawning over Putin."

Why do media organisations allow this man airtime to spread around misinformation, especially when there is so much being floated around by various people with ulterior motives. We need to limit people like him, he peddles in lies and fake news. Stop feeding the trolls.

“I thank the people and government of the United Kingdom for their tremendous support from the very beginning of this war” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

We've had a fantastic day of talks so far at our Annual Conference, including unravelling the decline of Nightingales, insights from monitoring waterbirds and celebrating 30 years of @bto-gbw.bsky.social! #BTOConference2025

No, Trump has destroyed America in the eyes of the world.

No, that's pretty easy. Cancel it, he's just proved he cannot be trusted. The sooner we part from America the better.

A timely moment to remember that Donald Trump dodged the draft & JD Vance wondered a few short years ago whether he would turn out to be 'America's Hitler'...

let me be completely clear: FUCK YOU & FUCK YOUR VOICE NOTE. i didn't spend two decades ignoring voicemails demanding to be texted instead just so millennials could come along and dump 5 minute voice notes of distracted gibberish with a single kernel of useful information.

Ooh, lucky you! An Avocet just stepped into your scroll! 😍

French President Emmanuel Macron publicly interrupted Donald Trump to correct another of the US President’s falsehoods over Ukraine 👏

I mean even China abstained! Nice company you are keeping US, not. 🙄

BREAKING: US voted against Ukraine's UN resolution which branded Russia the "aggressor" & demanded withdrawal of its troops. US on list of 18 nations also incl Russia, Iran and North Korea to vote against. UK & most European nations among 93 states to back Ukrainian resolution. China abstained.

In 2019 Nigel Farage's Brexit Party voted against plans to tackle Russian propaganda, calling claims of Russian interference "scare stories" One of his MEPs was Nathan Gill, who has just been accused in court of taking bribes in exchange for defending Russia in the European Parliament

Well what do you know. Reform UK's former leader in Wales has just been accused in court of accepting bribes in exchange for making statements in the European Parliament that would benefit Russia. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Tomorrow marks the 3rd anniversary of Putin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. His forces bombed cities like Mariupol into rubble. Raped, tortured & murdered civilians. Targeted maternity & children's hospitals. I took this photo of one the mass graves - it contained 445 bodies in Izium (1/2)

If anyone bothers to look back at Farage’s support for Trumputin, there’s ten or more years of this kind of stuff

Don’t gift our work to AI billionaires: Mark Haddon, Michal Rosen and other creatives urge government

"America’s growing darkness: a timely warning to the UK Living amidst chaos in the US, I fear a creeping regime reminiscent of 1930s Germany. Project 2025 echoes a history threatening democracy"

Today is election day in Germany - a day to celebrate democracy, to protect our freedom and our liberal way of life. If you are German, use your right to vote and strengthen the parties and politicians who are fighting for our core values. Let's defend our democracy against extremists and populists!

An “insecure peace” deal for Ukraine only “risks more war”, the defence secretary warns this weekend as Sir Keir Starmer seeks to convince President Trump not to agree a pro-Putin ceasefire deal www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Despite claiming to love his country, Nigel Farage’s silence on Trump, Putin and Ukraine shows where his loyalties really lie www.adambienkov.co.uk/p/agent-farage

Powerful & heartbreaking from @lukeharding1968.bsky.social on Trump’s attempts at extortion of Ukraine’s wealth. Essential reading. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...

UK to unveil new Russia sanctions to mark three years of Ukraine war David Lammy said he would announce the sanctions, which he called the largest package of measures since the early days of the conflict, on Monday to coincide with the anniversary www.itv.com/news/2025-02...

The origin of the obsession matters. From Giuliani to Musk, the Trump circle is obsessed with slandering and attacking Ukraine. Why? And instead of making a real case for abandoning it to Russia, it’s just one bullshit Kremlin propaganda tale after another.

America will have to live with the shame of what's happening here for years. www.wsj.com/world/europe...

youtu.be/w3UB8zi3_hg A former senior Soviet KGB spy chief has claimed that Donald Trump was recruited as a spy by Russian intelligence as early as 38 years ago by his department and given the codename ‘Krasnov.’

Dear @maitlis.bsky.social @jonsopel1.bsky.social @lewisgoodall.com @johnsimpsonnews.bsky.social @krishgm.bsky.social @vicderbyshire.bsky.social, I would be hugely grateful if you might consider sharing my piece about the extraordinary work of Ukrainian combat medics on the front line. Thank you.

During his speech in the European Parliament, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko said that "Ukrainians are now defending peace across Europe." "The reason for this senseless war is that we Ukrainians want to be part of the European family. And the Russian Federation cannot accept this.

⚡️UK’s Lammy sees no Russian willingness for peace at G20 meeting. In his speech, released by the U.K. Foreign Office, David Lammy accused Russia of engaging in "Tsarist imperialism" and failing to learn from historical colonial wars.

Shameful stuff.

The EU stands with Moldova. We welcome the political agreement between @europarl.europa.eu and @consilium.europa.eu on the €1.9 billion Reform and Growth Facility for Moldova. This is the largest EU support package since its independence, a boost to its path to our Union ↓ europa.eu/!nxCVfx

😂😂 what an idiot.

Russian nationalist blogger Roman Antonovsky thinks Russia "should by no means commit any crimes against civilians". Instead, he suggests Russia focus on "sabotage operations" in the West. He seems to have missed the memo that Russia has been doing both of these things for years.

Friends, We must focus on remaining emotionally sturdy and supporting #Ukraine. There's a lot of work ahead of us.

BREAKING: Keir Starmer has spoken to President Zelenskyy and backed him after Trump’s attacks. “The PM expressed his support for Zelenskyy as Ukraine’s democratically elected leader and said that it was perfectly reasonable to suspend elections during war time as the UK did during World War II."
