The man is a fraud. You can’t believe a word he says.

As the 50th anniversary of his death approaches, we remember that the bearlike film star James Robertson Justice also left an environmental legacy as a founder of the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust at Slimbridge @radiopricey.bluesky.social @westenglandbylines.co.uk

This is how you do it Defra, Natural England, @tonyjuniper.bsky.social @roseoneill.bsky.social. Vision.

We will make national parks and historic sites free for all Canadians this upcoming summer.

Bid to build Europe’s first research station on Atlantic temperate rainforest in Cornwall A great project by Merlin Hanbury-Tenison’s Thousand Year Trust, of which I’m a trustee: www.theguardian.com/environment/...

A spring birdwatch on the Chinese coast where the mighty Yangtze joins the ocean, urban birding with a new generation of Shanghai birders & an exotic visitor in my Derbyshire garden, more familiar in Italian villas & French chateau. My @thetimes.com Nature Notebook yesterday online & in the paper.

John Caudwell, "Trump calls it liberation day, I call it doomsday" "Without doubt America is going to head towards recession" "Prices increase, inflation through the roof" "How will anyone ever trust America again?" 10% tariff = 0.3% hit to GDP Brexit = 5% hit to GDP The UK's mess is huge

By value, my small antiquarian book business sells most online to the US.Traditionally, art, antiques and collectables have been tariff free. Now, we seem to be faced with a 10% sales tax to post products to the US. The poxy Daily Telegraph is reporting what a success these tariffs are for Britain.

UK car industry faces perilously high tariffs, every other business faces a 10% sales tax to US, global stock markets are tanking, main export markets are being harmed, the White House confused Norfolk Island with Norfolk & imposed tariffs on Myanmar. But shameful Daily Telegraph reports a triumph.

www.facebook.com/share/v/1EN4... Please support our campaign to stop the destruction of this ancient, beautiful and wildlife rich forest. Stop the building of 75 lodgesin a mega holiday village in this public forest. Make Forest England and Forest Holidays think again!

When the Brexiteers say the UK has done well out of US tariffs, ask them to cast an eye on the stock market, here’s the FTSE100.

Those commenting on Trump’s tariff policy should remember trade policy is composed of tariffs & non-tariff barriers to trade. These latter include different product standards, subsidies & other forms of state support to businesses & industries.Multilateral trade policy considers all this in the round

Great to see Defra’s plans to stop burning of peat of a depth greater than 30cm. Now we just need to see Forestry England withdraw support to Forest Holidays’ plans to wreck acres of deep peat at Matlock Forest #SaveFarleyMoor

To birders, female common redstart or black?

Turned the @newsagents.bsky.social off tonight. Sopel and Goodall repeating a lot of Tufton Street nonsense on climate change. Why not get someone on who knows the hard yards on energy policy? Why has Badenoch attacked net zero? Her financial backers don’t like it. Really poor politics.

Thousands of people are ditching Tesla. Here’s one of them with a message you can see from space. Location: Black Rock Sands, Wales, UK Led By Donkeys is 100% funded by small donations.

A very concerning situation, a global phenomenon of declining coastal breeding peregrine falcons. I wrote about this last year following a visit to Pembrokeshire where there has been a steady recent decline in cliff-nesting birds. Is Avian influenza the cause?
