Notice how the people who blame voters always said that Sanders couldn't win an election because he can't "win enough votes" but when it's their DNC establishment candidate who can't get the votes it's the voters fault.

The curse of my #modelrailroad is basing my entire layout on the cheap availability of old Aristocraft Pacifics because of seeing this one photo of 3rd & Townsend which means sticking with the oversized 1/29 scale on 45mm track for standard gauge instead of the accurate 1/32 scale

I think another reason why I like Sacramento Northern aside from showing how much electric rail was in the Bay Area prior to WWII was all the oddball derpy equipment it collected over the years. So many silly little guys tooting around between Oakland and Chico

Lola asked me to ask you if 1) have any head pats available and 2) treats #corgi

Lola hopes you are having an okay evening all things considered #corgi

I have long advocated that our country would serve its people better if Congress and the President were handled like jury duty. At least better than it is now.

One additionally depressing part of this is that 70k is hilariously little to her. That's money found in her sofa. She can ruin people for her cost equivalent of a morning coffee. Imagine having so much power and wealth that spare change can destroy the lives of others. Imagine choosing that.

I don't think people truly understand the ramifications of eliminating due process. Due process is part of peaceful resolutions in society, it is in the Constitution for a reason. Otherwise it's the Wild West. Why would any US Citizen comply peacefully if there's no chance/incentive for them to?

Fellow train nerds: what rolling stock is this? I'm not familiar with it. #trains

Always fascinating to see how G scale models routinely blow their chance at being remotely close to accurate when they're one of the few scales large enough to make such high details practical. Like, I know why, but when you see the HO brass model you just frown a bit. #modelrailroad

San Francisco's demolition of 3rd & Townsend is legit one of the most baffling downgrades in Bay Area architecture. It just bums me tf out #trains

Shafter Ave & 40th St, Oakland California in 1943 vs 2025. While Sacramento Northern's freight services were maligned by neighbors of the Shafter yard, the SN interurbans were certainly celebrated. #trains

I think the single biggest reason I think about rail as a nerd is the American public's delusion around car infrastructure being superior because it's what "was always here." Meanwhile every desirable neighborhood in the US with sky-high rent and properties were almost all streetcar suburbs. #trains

Also, I know followers occasionally want to see Lola the #corgi so here she is as of earlier this previous week.

I love when the photos of the real thing look a teensy bit like a model. There's just something so serene and cute about it.

When trains are efficient and fast, people use them. I'm tired of people who insist America is #1 and then complain that we shouldn't build better infrastructure, insisting it "can't be done." This country reversed rivers, bore through mountains. Don't tell me America can't do it. NIMBYs are cowards

When I'm overworked/stressed I occasionally look at these fine images of the Sacramento Northern electric freight bois and I just remind myself that I will in fact get to printing the entire fleet of these, even if the world is on fire. I just wish the stripe scheme was pre-1945 instead of post.

cap47 once again delivers some mastery in weathering. I bookmark his work every single time because I just hope somehow with enough practice I can get to this level. The dream of a 3rd & Townsend full of 60ft passenger cars with this level of dust and detail just sends me #modeltrains #airbrush
