This review for The Bygones is just in from Instagram and really gets to the heart of the book, thanks to Daniel Sheen for the kind words ✌️

BIG NEWS. Absolutely delighted to announce that my debut novel, Keshed, is going to be publishing in the autumn with @ortacpress.bsky.social one of the freshest, most interesting and eclectic indies on the scene. What a delight to have two books on the way with such a great press 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Here's a bit of a thread of some recent publications, forthcoming ones and events for anyone who's interested. All of them are well worth a look regardless of my work, fantastic creative spaces that it's been a pleasure to contribute to ✌️

When I was born, an appalling roar rumbled across the sky. Black clouds billowed and flashed with blue light as I emerged into the jarring horror of this reality. A wasp flew out from my mother’s cunt and stung the midwife on the nose. The poor midwife screamed, flung me across the room in shock...

Jimbo is a proper treasure; such a fresh and distinctive voice.

Looking forward to this

You can pre-order Grass magazine now, a beautiful magazine of working class literature and art. My story 'Quad' is included which was long listed for the DesperateLit Lit prize last year and is it's first outing. Grab one while they're hot ✌️ grassmagazine.bigcartel.com/product/pre-...

Can't wait to be part of the Working Class Stories event at Blackwells in Manchester with Neil and Wayne in March. If anyone's around, nip down for a chat ✌️

IN THE SCUMRAG WITH A POEM OR SUMAT. IT'S ABOUT DEPRESSION AND THAT I THINK, NOT SURE. I GET CONFUSED EASILY. www.scumbagpress.co.uk/product/the-...

I've got a poem in DeepSNAKES ai psychofauna odyssey if anyone fancies their minds melting ✌ youtu.be/r4K5jF7U41A?...

Some hype coming in from the other place and one of me and the cru for the fanclub. More coming soon ✌

If you see this, post an album cover with a car (truck, motorcycle, tractor) on it

Out here with the dog and Lankum and visiting places in my head for the new novel, revealing motives, actions and emotions before getting back home and to the page.

Here's the first para of Just Dads and Chainsmoking from Spinners issue 7. It was a fun one to write, this one.

Yes. Another fantastic (and I mean fantastic in the true sense) book by a great writer. This is a pukka book of stories. Jim is one me favourites. Doing something a bit different.

Thank you Jim, for making the day a lot less grim!

The Longest Road I Know is a beautiful new zine by Craig Scott, a journey through the American deep south visiting backwater towns and taking an often poetic look at harsh past via slavery, deprivation & Faulkner. theprocessofnothing.bigcartel.com?fbclid=PAY2x...

This Dean Wilson pairing is the 👌. The poems had me bobbing through like a pebble's journey to the shore. Very funny and a pleasure to read. Loved every second of it. @deanwilson.bsky.social

A schizophrenic with insomnia, hallucinations, strange perception of altered state as default, paranoia, avolition, lack of motivation, etc. is outcast among others, and is like a supernatural creature. A spectral entity of diabolic, repulsive nature, who exists beyond the fringes of society.

Thought for 2025: Writers and artists - if you're going to have a portrait done - go all in. Here is the great László Krasznahorkai.

Is it me or are all these starter packs starting to sound a bit far-fetched?

Such a pleasure to be involved with this unique publication. Every moment in it is sublime. If you can find a copy, buy it and cherish it.

This is a magnifecent set. Jim is Proper. Really distinctive voice and these stories are so well observed. Greap press too.
