Through all his troubles, neither the DOJ/FBI nor any state authorities ever subjected Donald Trump to arrest, preferring in every case to proceed by indictment and voluntary surrender. It’s notable that a sitting judge and pillar of the Milwaukee community was not extended the same courtesy.

This is crazy. ICE didn’t have event have a warrant to arrest the guy! The judge asked for it and they said “we have an administrative warrant” (not a real warrant). She told them to kick rock and now the FBI is charging her with obstruction the arrest ‼️

Arresting judges. Read that again.

Awful. Horrible. I don’t know if this judge did anything wrong. But I can say that if this Admin insists on disappearing migrants to foreign gulags in violation of court orders, more & more ppl will feel compelled to thwart ICE. www.jsonline.com/story/news/b...

Donald Trump ordered the Department of Justice to investigate the leading platform through which Democrats raise money for their campaigns. Less that 100 days in, Trump is weaponizing DOJ to prevent his political opponents from funding opposition campaigns. Where is the outrage?

reporting on this has really got to get better about communicating the magnitude of the breach here. if you read the nyt article with minimal context, you would have no sense that this was watergate-level impeachable misconduct

The stupidity is like nuclear. and they obviously think all of us are stupid, too. And frankly too many of us are.

Elissa Slotkin is a former CIA agent cosplaying as an everywoman. AOC is a former waitress who treats voters as though they are smart enough to know who's screwing them and how we can fix it.

The level of criminality in the Republican Party is off the charts. Trump just pardoned a Nevada politician who raised money for a statue of a slain police officer but spent it on cosmetic surgery instead. Trump gives his co-conspirators a license to steal.

So, in other words, Ohio Republican members of Congress do not represent the people of Ohio.

Total-ly

A new study forecasts more than 850,000 measles cases over the next 25 years if US vaccination rates stay the same. Millions of infections are possible if rates drop. My latest for @wired.com: www.wired.com/story/scient...

This is well done.

This is appalling, and all the more reason for Episcopalians to lift up Pauli’s memory, especially on July 1, Pauli’s day on our calendar of saints. Pauli’s life embodied our baptismal promise to respect the dignity of every human being. Trump & co say and do the very opposite. ⚓️

“We’ll go back to the technical and proficiency levels we had in the 1950s,”

This is the laugh we all need right now. Congestion pricing forever.

“The notion that the Rev. Pauli Murray’s lived experience as a Southerner, and work as a Black, gender non-confirming civil, women’s and human rights activist is against national interest, and essentially un-American, is abhorrent …” ⚓️ episcopalnewsservice.org/2025/04/24/p...

What they call pedants (people who can’t resist correcting you’re spelling and grammer) in five different countries…. 5. Comma fucker (Finland) 4. Little dot shitter (Switzerland) 3. Whittler of woodchips (Norway) 2. Counter of peas (Germany) 1. Sodomizer of flies (France)

Let's wake up. He's REALLY unpopular for this early in a term or really ever. President's this unpopular are already losing. Power becomes harder to assert when your power is fading.

Marco Rubio's State Dept appears to have destroyed war crimes evidence www.independent.co.uk/news/world/e...

Looking forward to this one, which might be of special interest to my #Episcopal friends. #tec ⚓️

Episcopalians ESPECIALLY should be fighting to keep Pauli Murray's legacy alive 🕯

"they are going to end cancer research and kill its top scientists" is the kind of thing that would get you laughed out of the writer's room on saturday morning cartoons and it is literally what's happening

one of the world's top cancer scientists, who works for Harvard, is at risk of deportation to Russia where she might be killed for criticizing Putin, because she allegedly failed to disclose carrying frog embryos at the border. it's upending American medical research: prospect.org/health/2025-...

“You have the right not to be kidnapped and sold into a slave prison” is a winning issue, folks

Good God.

A US citizen with a learning disability who has just suffered a medical emergency asks a CBP officer for directions outside the emergency room. He ends up detained in an icebox for ten days and has the assistant secretary of DHS lying about him to the public at large. popular.info/p/us-citizen...

"Should President Trump deport Afghan allies back and the Taliban execute them, he will complete America’s betrayal of the values embodied in a generation of American combat veterans. So much for respecting the military. So much for making America great." www.thebulwark.com/p/trump-admi...

Pope Francis' legacy: a pastoral revolution embracing LGBTQ+ Catholics with compassion. His actions, like endorsing blessings for same-sex couples, mark a significant shift towards inclusivity in the Church. A testament to love over judgment. @ncronline.bsky.social www.ncronline.org/news/pope-fr...

To put a finer point on it. Trump’s contention isn’t just that he can deport people without them appearing before a judge, but that he can render them into a life sentence in a foreign dungeon with no process whatsoever.

The Israeli soldiers who killed Palestinian medics last month "fired continuously for three and a half minutes – even from point-blank range – reloading their ammunition multiple times, despite attempts by the aid workers to identify themselves." www.haaretz.com/israel-news/...

I am absolutely done with the popularism debate.

The Trump administration cut the funding for attorneys and legal services for migrant children. So now kids, in cartoon t-shirts and PJs, some *as young as four,* are facing immigration court alone. gothamist.com/news/4-year-...

"People in states with abortion bans are twice as likely to die during pregnancy: The risk is greatest among Black women in states with abortion bans, according to a new report." buff.ly/gwbCdc0

No, you really don't "have to ask yourself" this. The right to criticize the government, even for *lawful* policies (let alone what Trump is trying to do), is not just central to the First Amendment's protection of free speech; it is one of the most critically important features of *any* democracy.

Just-out YouGov polling shows Trump's approval on the economy continuing to plunge — and his handling of immigration turning negative very sharply. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

NEW: The Trump administration is quietly putting America’s children at risk by cutting funds and manpower for investigating child abuse, enforcing child support payments, providing child care and much more.

Masked men without identification abducting members of the population and throwing them into unmarked vans for non crimes This is fascism in practice and deed.

So basically our core biomedical agenda has gone from cancer and heart disease research with major investments in alzheimers/dementia research to jacking up the sperm count of teenage males and a new wild goose for the 'hidden causes' of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Bro they lobotomized your aunt

It's wild that Europe, the allies the United States joined hands with to stand up against Russia (then doing evil business as the "Soviet Union"), is now having to stand up against *the United States* for enabling Russia's war crimes.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social: "The United States government quite literally disappeared these people. It won't say where they are. We don't know. Their families do not know where they are. And they have essentially no recourse in U.S. courts because there are no records of their whereabouts."

The regime does not care what happens to these children, and any "moderate" who decides to accept its bad-faith declarations to the contrary is just as bad as the regime itself.

There is no bottom to this barrel.

Ugh I’m getting so many of these

Six of nine members of SCOTUS are graduates of private Catholic schools, and that fact by itself tells you more about the likely outcome than any case law.

Rep @robertgarcia.bsky.social, who was just in El Salvador, confirms to me there's no indication that the US Embassy there has gotten any directive from the Trump administration to even begin facilitating Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return. "Trump is defying the Supreme Court," the Congressman says.
