I see that the national NBA folks are finally coming around to, oh, I dunno, what was written / reported locally on ... checks dates - April 30 & May 14 re: Giannis Antetokounmpo and the #Bucks 🤫 #NBASky www.jsonline.com/story/sports... www.jsonline.com/story/sports...

The NBA Finals are just about over, but the draft and free agency are right around the corner. For the newbies on here, bumping this starter pack for some great NBA follows!

Why

Sad but true: The healthiest team generally* wins the title. Tough end for Indy in that regard the last two postseasons. #NBASky

Interesting to hear the nugget from LeBron James about the RINGZ discourse. I think he helped add to it with the move to Miami, then back to Cleveland. But honestly, Giannis Antetokounmpo is really the only star player left out there publicly talking about chasing titles. #NBASky (1/3)

If it's true the #Spurs are kicking the tires on a vet to sort of help push their timeline a little quicker with Victor Wembanyama...but also realizing they have no shooting & Dylan Harper doesn't add said shooting... Send No. 2 to Washington for Middleton & No. 6 & 18 & draft Knueppel #NBASky

The Desmond Bane acquisition by the Magic is a great positional fit, great offensive fit & a wonderful fit for their defensive-first culture. Also, f-- the picks. But what's wild is that now they're a first apron team. Which means they'll have fun for this season and next. #NBASky

What'd I miss?

Oh

Catching up on a variety of podcasts & I’m always amused when my colleagues assume: * every all-star wants to win a chip. * fans will be TOTALLY fine with their team trading their best player for a shit return. * Assuming (again) massive trades = title when time & again that rarely works.

Ah

Former #Bucks coach Don Nelson was given the Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Basketball Coaches Association. Nelson coached the Bucks from 1976-87, going 540-344 in the regular season &42-46 in the playoffs. The Bucks made three conference finals in his tenure. #NBASky

Back covering #golf for the final round of the AmFam Championship at TPC Wisconsin in Madison. The tournament features a new format this year, as the team-event has Stricker and his brother-in-law Mario Tiziani in the hunt for a title via @bensteelemjs.bsky.social www.jsonline.com/story/sports...

Hell of a photo

At the ICE raid and subsequent community resistance in Paramount, California this morning, this skater kid ate dozens of munitions from Border Patrol agents, walked away slowly and flipped them off.

Interesting note: This was not the FIRST parade for an NBA champion - but it was the first parade that Greg Smith said "closed down the city almost." It set the template for all subsequent title parades. The 1971 #Bucks never got one. #NBASky www.jsonline.com/story/sports...
