The equipment comes with the original package. Yet it is by no means unusual equipment; I believe large numbers of people have at least some talent as writers, and that those talents can be strengthened and sharpened. If I didn’t believe that, writing a book like this would be a waste of time.

This isn’t an alien—it’s a Ghibli-style tardigrade! These "water bears" survive space, radiation, and -200°C to 149°C! At 0.5mm, they pause life in a "tun" state for years, then revive. Found from oceans to peaks, they’re nature’s toughest heroes! 🪐✨ #Ghibli

🦠 The Immune System’s Watchtower: Meet the Toll-like Receptor! 🌟 Ever wondered how your body spots invaders like bacteria or viruses? Say hello to the Toll-like receptor (TLR): a molecular superhero! This Y-shaped structure is a pathogen’s worst nightmare. #Immunology #ScienceUnveiled

0/ Imagine a creature so cunning it turns its prey into a living zombie with a single sting. Meet the emerald jewel wasp, a tiny, shimmering predator that hijacks cockroaches in one of nature’s most chilling showdowns. Thread below. #nature

Here's a quick look at the Electron Transport Chain in the mitochondrial membrane: Complex I (orange), Complex III (blue), Complex IV (yellow), Cytochrome c (pink), and Ubiquinone (purple). It’s all about moving electrons to make ATP! ⚡ #Biology #Science

Asked #Grok3 (left) and #ChatGPT (right) to generate a 3D model of myoglobin, the key oxygen-carrying protein. The results? No real grasp of its structure. 🧬 #AI

The most abundant protein on Earth is RuBisCO (Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase). It’s an enzyme found in plants, algae, and some bacteria, playing a key role in photosynthesis by catalyzing the first major step of carbon fixation—converting carbon dioxide into organic compounds.

Pretty much ready for the printers now, and looking gorgeous. Available in September.

🧵 A thread with insights into the structure of the measles virus! 🦠 This diagram gives us a detailed look at the components of this highly contagious virus, which causes the measles disease. Follow along as we break it down! #MeaslesVirus #Virology #Science picture from @rcsbpdb.bsky.social

Hi everyone, here's my conversation with Kenneth Catania @vanderbilt.edu. We discuss about grammar of science, the puzzle-solving nature of discovery, and the ways in which attention, technology, and unexpected anomalies shape breakthroughs.

@stevestuwill.bsky.social you posted on 𝕏 on Dec 5, 2020 this stunning video - why not repeat on 🔵bsky ? (sorry, I did)... "Time-lapse footage of a vampire amoeba: a microscopic organism that feeds on algal cells by breaking through their cell walls and sucking out their insides." #ProtistsOnSky

In a new Science study, cryo–electron tomography captures the in-cell architecture of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, illuminating how the coordinated action of molecular machines drives life’s fundamental energy conversion. Learn more in this week's issue: scim.ag/3FA3Ygq

In the article "The Multiple Paths to Multiple Life," Christopher P. Kempes and David C. Krakauer propose that life has originated multiple times on Earth through various historical pathways, challenging the notion of a single origin. @sfiscience.bsky.social link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Writing Tip: Train your ability to enter into a writing flow state. New writers may not even know what that is. It's like a runner's high for long-distance runners. Getting into a good writing flow is VERY hard, but can produce your best work in a fraction of the time. #writing #writingtips #Booksky
