C-O-N-T-E-M-T Find out what it means to me (I had to leave out a letter so it would scan. Artistic license)

Dispatch to the Homeland That is this person's actual name. No, really.

Thank goodness. Harvard had given out signs of collaboration. Interesting to note that the two law firms (nice work on the dual letterhead, guys!) are both Republican firms. Quinn represents Musk in his anti-speech cases.

Imagine the horrible things Trump would be doing if Schumer hadn't reined him in by passing the continuing resolution he wanted.

These are fun times. For example, you can enjoy watching Trump's press event with Bukele by trying to count the number of impeachable offenses he commits or promises to commit per minute.

Wrong question. The right question: "If President Trump asked, would you send him back?"

When lifelong conservatives come over to the anti-Trump camp, I want to be harsh, but I do try to remember how difficult a move it is for them.

A worthwhile cause, especially if you're a lawyer who feels like demonstratin'

Good interview with @anniechave.bsky.social on the County Championship broadcast this afternoon. Her book of cricket journeys sounds interesting. 🏏

Why. Why.

Unfortunately, if someone goes to jail for contempt, it’s very unlikely to be Miller. We’re going to need denazification measures in four years, & that will include criminal trials of the likes of Miller.

I may or may not be thinking this again

People will get impatient with Xinis, as they got impatient with Boasberg as he built a record. But she has to give DOJ every chance to comply, & she has to try different ways of getting the information she's ordered (e.g., sworn declarations or live witness testimony) before she lowers the boom.

The masters brought us back together

I'm a cishet white American man, too. I have been free to say whatever I want for my entire life. There are a few exceptions—libel, incitement to imminent violence, etc.—but I'm no freer to do that now than I ever was. Stop whining, my brethren. It doesn't become us, and it's bullshit.

I used to like Robert Reich quite a lot, but I really can't excuse the frequency with which he spreads misinformation.

Something is afoot in Georgia, and people in these isles are staying up because of it

DOJ is in contempt of court. I suspect Judge Xinis will give them another chance to comply rather than holding anyone in civil contempt yet. But DOJ seems determined to force a showdown or a climbdown: either she throws someone in jail, or she gives up on her orders. This is heading to SCOTUS

The Invisible Hand has really let me down on this one

So Trump's medical report is out, and, once again, we find that there's NOTHING he's capable of telling the truth about.

I think they've announced three changes to tariffs since Friday. Even over the weekend, the rules aren't stable. If you want to kill investment and tank the economy, destroying predictability is a good way to go about it.

The thing about Europe: it's the actual land of the free now. Whatever problems Europe has - and it has plenty - it is looking pretty damn good by comparison these days. My Charlemagne this week www.economist.com/europe/2025/...

If you were an honest & competent originalist, you would know that the 1787 generation was very familiar with this history, & the parallels between Charles I & Trump might make you wonder about his taxing & spending (& SCOTUS’s placing him above the law last year).

I wasn’t sedated for mine recently. If he has to be knocked out to have a cable sent up his backside, he’s not a real man.
