Arne Slot is only the second ever Liverpool manager to complete the league double over the reigning English champions in his first season in charge of the club. The other was Bob Paisley v Leeds in 1974-75. #LFC

Liverpool completed a home and away win double over Manchester City today. No team has done this to Liverpool in any of the last nine seasons, a record which wil continue into 2025/26 at least.

A performance of Champions today, on the pitch, in the dugout and in the stands #lfc

The percussive sound of the inevitable morphing into the Liverpool groove. "A team that plays the Liverpool way, And wins the championship in May."

"We get to own and revel in this Sunday night. We get to hit it hard. We get to believe and we get to ask if now you are going to believe us. "We get to ask that because you are kidding yourself if you have faith in anyone else." ✍️ @knoxharrington.bsky.social's review... Read here 👇

😍😍😍

20 - Manchester City now trail Liverpool by 20 points - the most they have been behind the league leaders at the end of a day since July 14th 2020, when they last failed to win the title and Liverpool last won it themselves. Throwback.

A sensational away performance at the champions..11 to go! City Stats Pack: https://drbarts.quarto.pub/match-day-26-season-2425/ follow @anfieldindex.com for more match content

The quintessential Doku performance. All show and no clue as to where he can make that dribbling ability count.

My favourite thing about Slot is I’ve no doubt that he’ll go home, have some dinner, get into bed, think about the game and then seethe gently about the Forest and Plymouth games.

Some performance that. Some statement. Tactically brilliant, incredible display

Not being funny, but that was the least nervy I’ve been on a long-held two-nil lead this season I think. Tactically fascinating. Slot basically just called their bluff. “Have it all you want, I do not think you’ll do anything with it.”

I was listening to 5Live before the game and Julien Lauren was on putting out the idea that it hasn't been a great PL season and that we haven't had to be great to get to this position. Well, statements on the pitch like that today put such vacuous nonsense to rest really don't they.

FT 0-2. I loved how we just set back and read a book while they attempted to come up with the perfect algorithm to break us down. And we still looked the most likely to score the next goal. A weekend where the difference between first and the rest showed and it is a world of difference.

16 - Mo Salah has scored 16 away goals in the Premier League this season, a joint-record by any player in the competition's history, along with Kevin Phillips in 1999-00 and Harry Kane in 2022-23. Sweet.

I keep saying this but, like, no one's ever won PFA Player of the Year three times before, and Salah is pretty much a lock to do it.

30 goals 20 assists That's now 50 (!) goal involvements this season for Mohamed Salah #MCILIV

HT 0-2. Moments of class, moments we will look back on in the years to come. Salah ice cool, Dom backs himself this time. Virg, Ibou imperious. All working for one another and picking their time impeccably. See us home lads.

Will be interesting to see who lines up where. Hopefully the shape and balance is better than against Villa. Szoboszlai leading the press will be key in a potentially huge game for LFC (With thanks to Adham Sameh on Twitter for the graphic)

And just like that, the target is no longer the hallowed 90. Work to do, nerve to hold, but a monumental chance presents itself to us now.

Go and grab that chance tomorrow redmen! It's right there.

Get those point projections ready @burpleman.bsky.social

This is brutally bad from Leicester.

Precisely this
