"Liberate this city from socialists and burdensome leadership." If that's not regime change, I don't know what to tell you. The inflection point is now.

This is not "rising political tensions". This is the snapping of the rope. This is full-on authoritarianism and if journalists don't have the guts to call it by its name they should quit their fucking jobs.

Statement from Sen. Alex Padilla's office:

This is utterly horrifying. She's sending federal law enforcement into LA to "liberate" it from its democratically elected government. If that's not police-state talk, I don't know what is. (Then she arrests a senator.) The war is on, friends, whether you like it or not.

THIS A UNITED STATES SENATOR ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF CALIFORNIA BEING PHYSICALLY SHOVED OUT OF A MEETING ABOUT WHAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS DOING TO THE BIGGEST CITY IN OUR STATE.

"...will be provided a RED hat to wear." And paid in cryptocurrency.

There’s a Shakespeare quote for everything. Truly the dril of his time.

los angeles california 1940

"Were treated like dogs. Theyre making us lay on the floor. Were here to help Waymo" Its ok grandpa. The war ended 40 years ago. Go to sleep

don’t forget: waymos and other robotaxis are surveillance devices on wheels that police are increasingly tapping for footage

This is what the federal government is calling in the military to deal with.

This is one of my favorite reflections on AI yet, both in content and approach. Unpacking personal reactions, and being honest about those. Not foregrounding righteousness in either dimension: jasonsantamaria.com/blog/large-l...
