At least it used to lead to charges — not so with this lawless regime.

Sickening.

One more reason to tank Tesla: they use their existing technology to screw owners. #teslatakedown

Kilmar Abrego Garcia lived in Maryland with his wife and their three children, and has never been charged with any crime. The Department of Homeland Security issued him a work permit, and he joined a union, working full time as a sheet metal apprentice.

worth reiterating that in literally any other context a 10% tariff on Japan alone would be getting wall to wall financial news coverage, would be considered the largest trade war escalation in modern American history and the dumbest economic policy move by a President in decades

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism. If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone. Americans of conscience must stand against this now.

Skipped the paperwork. Ignored the court order. Broke the law. Ignored the constitution. This ain’t immigration policy. This is straight-up defiance of the rule of law.

Please repeat over and over: “Bending to the whims of a bully will not end his cruelty. It will only embolden him. The response to authoritarianism isn’t acquiescence. Bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only: a punch in the face.” —Gov. JB Pritzker

Steve Kerr wore a Harvard basketball shirt after the Warriors’ win tonight: “Yes, this is me supporting Harvard. Way to go. Way to stand up to the bully.”

📌62 years ago today, in his "Letter from Birmingham Jail" Martin Luther King wrote: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." 📌Let these words ring with thunder today as a madman and his odious henchmen take a wrecking ball to the Constitution and our human rights everywhere ...

Get ‘em, Your Honor.

Columbia capitulated because they wanted to. Their actions towards the peaceful student demonstrations on their campus BEFORE Trump was elected were inexcusable, and they were only too happy to sell their students’ lives out to the ICE gestapo. Shame on them.

Please, please, please make arrests!

CRIMINAL, being the operative word here.

more specifically they are going to continue this in perpetuity because if Garcia ever makes it back to this country he's going to describe what's going on there and it will be some real problems

“As we contemplate what might happen on April 20, Americans who object to the invocation of the Insurrection Act will be in something of a bind. If they take to the streets to protest, that may give the administration a pretext to expand its use further.”

We cannot forget. We are living it now.

Apparently so.

I suggested in my calls to my senators and rep today that they join Senator Van Hollen on his trip to El Salvador. What a powerful message that would send to this insane president if a group from Congress went to demonstrate concern for all of the unlawfully imprisoned. #showup #speakout #resist

And you don’t have to pay capital gains, either.

U.S. human rights law likely violated in $6M payment for El Salvador prison But a U.S. law bars State’s financial support of “units of foreign security forces” — which can include military and law enforcement staff in prisons #MOG8 www.newsfromthestates.com/article/us-h...

BREAKING: Judge Loren AliKhan is issuing the temporary restraining order Susman Godfrey sought blocking the Trump admin from enforcing parts 1, 3, & 5 of the executive order Trump signed last week targeting the law firm. AliKhan is the 4th judge to grant a TRO against Trump's law-firm EOs.

These are the words of a tyrant, not a president.

THIS IS NOT MY AMERICA. HE IS NOT MY PRESIDENT. #naziism

This was my classmate. He was a student in my ethics class, and we used to sit next to each other. Most dedicated person in the class to legitimate justice for all people. He legitimately cared. I am so horribly heartbroken

You should care about Palestinians because they are people but you should also care about them because what they are doing to them is what Western governments are seeing if they can do to all of us in the future

Fascist presidents.

There's no bargaining with fascism, it dictates the conditions of your life. That's the point.

The lies Pam Bondi and Stephen Miller just told about Abrego Garcia on national TV... ...I have no words for them. I am sick of calling things obscene or deranged. These are obviously evil people charting an obviously evil course for our country. The idea of Hell was devised for people like this.

Jared Polis?

El Salvador won’t return Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Meanwhile, Trump is not only refusing to bring him back—he is lying about the Supreme Court ruling compelling him to do so.

Let me say this again: If a president can illegally deport someone, conspire with that country’s leader to abandon them to human rights abuses, and face no consequences, we are in a hellish authoritarian moment. What a fucking evil, illiberal government this is.

@schumer.senate.gov , you said openly defying SCOTUS was a redline. Here it is. What is your plan to act?

If Stephen Miller can lie about Abrego Garcia and his case on national TV, he can do it in federal court under oath. Judge Xinis should demand his appearance, question him under oath, then jail him for Contempt when he commits Perjury. This lawless administration has to be subjected to rule of law.

I don't think I've seen this argument directly made like this in a case since January 20, but other lawyers and judges — and the Supreme Court — should be thinking very hard about this.

Trump to Bukele: "Home-growns are next. The home-growns. You gotta build about five more places. It's not big enough."
