A social credit system in the U.S. contradicts the Constitution and poses a risk of abuse by restricting the freedoms of individuals deemed undesirable by the government.

China is using AI for facial recognition, government surveillance, and a controversial social credit system. This system uses a set of social rules to assess whether a citizen is a model citizen and requires a lot of personal and financial information.

Several countries, including the UK, Canada, Brazil, and those in the EU, are actively working to implement ethical AI principles when integrating AI into their government systems. (1/2)

AI is a tool and does not replace a human. In a rush to get things done quickly, people are elevating a tool to human status.

I live in a state where many subject matter experts about our country’s nuclear arsenal are considered DEI hires and are millionaires. There’s a good chance a company has already snatched them up or has started executing their retirement plan, which means they could be anywhere in the world.

If Musk really wanted to eliminate government waste, he would’ve focused on military contracts with U.S. companies. But he won’t because he’s a military contractor.

The United States military is eager to integrate AI into its military systems and is willing to spend a lot of money to achieve this. As a result, many AI companies are going back on their previous commitments not to use their AI technologies for weapons development.

I just realized I am living in a Star Trek universe, but I'm living in the crappy part of Star Trek history. Damnit!

Many Americans think the U.S. government should be run like a business. But what people see now feels more like a hostile takeover you'd see in the business world. This is an administrative coup. It's not as violent as a physical coup, but the results will be the same if no action is taken.

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana, The Life of Reason, 1905. From the series Great Ideas of Western Man.

“The biggest threat to America today is not communism. It's moving America toward a fascist theocracy.”— (CNN's Crossfire Show in the year 1986) Frank Zappa

China has integrated AI into its government systems. It looks like Elon visited China and liked what he saw.

The United States has employed questionable people to achieve political goals in the past. In the 1960s, Operation Paperclip was used to recruit Nazi scientists in a race to the moon against the Russians.

It’s funny that a college dropout is taking over government labs filled with degree snobs with an AI with questionable development practices. But geeks and dorks will do anything to live that Star Trek fantasy.

Many governments with weak copyright laws will suffer because they will use the current chaos to take an artist's rights regarding AI.

China aims to dominate the AI industry by 2030 with an AI that can run on PC, eliminating the need for data centers. This could benefit tinkerers and universities. But, the creative writing industry will need to address these new rights issues between artists and publishers due to the rise of AI.

Sam Altman has accelerated his plans to move into government since his openAI business is unsustainable.

The irony of this drama is that OpenAI stole the copyrighted material to make its LLM, and then China copied it and made proprietary changes to the LLM algorithm. OpenAI can’t steal it back without getting sued by the People’s Republic of China-backed company.

China’s DeepSeek AI is sending shockwaves through the US AI industry. DeepSeek consumes less power and has considerably lower costs than its US counterpart, which could have less environmental impact.

It is best to use components from your country for AI for military purposes; that is why US companies compete so fiercely for government contracts.
