The White House seems to be making moves to outlaw trans affirming care for all Americans under 18, claiming they and their right wing, religious extremists know more about what's good for trans kids than the kids, their families, and their doctors all working according to established standards.

One of the most shocking things I have read for a while: t.co/lg46ijHLDF

many of the prominent transphobes (& some MPs) went to bat for this one after she received a police visit in 2022. they wrote articles defending her and sent her supportive messages. they won't bother speaking up now, though

The Trump administration: Doing the most harm, always

The woman in the viral video complaining about a trans woman running in the Boston Marathon finished nearly an hour & a half ahead of the woman she claimed had an unfair advantage. She ran a sub-3 hour marathon & is complaining about a masters athlete! Natalie! Babe! How are you not embarrassed??

I am incredibly grateful for people like Senator Hunt who are unafraid to say that all these anti-trans bills are pointless culture war horseshit that benefit no one but the people sponsoring them

Breaking: Over 150 college presidents across the country just signed a letter condemning the Trump administration’s threats to dictate their policies. “We speak with one voice against the unprecedented government overreach now endangering American higher education.”

Elon Musk explicitly calls for the genocide of trans people smh says it's time for them to die.

I wrote about the Sweet Briar College Vixens, and how they are better than the adults in charge lithub.com/lydia-kiesli...

1. OPINION: Republicans are pushing an anti-trans genocide, and too many Democrats are happy to let them do it. Fortunately, queer history provides lessons about how to fight back. Our latest column, from David Forbes (@davidforbes.bsky.social) www.madycast.com/p/opinion-re...

For my Patreon post this week, I wrote about why TERFs are still complaining about not having friends. www.patreon.com/posts/you-ha...

Major good news for my transmasculine readers. The Washington State Democrats have informed me that the bill will cover 6-month supply stockpiles of testosterone as well. They were unable to get 12-month supply stockpiles due to its controlled status, but it WAS upgraded from 3 to 6 months.

Personally, I think it should be front page news for at least a month if a sitting US President is using falsified evidence to try and deny due process to a man who has committed no crime, but that’s just me

Bane of my K-12 existence. I was deeply ashamed that my mama bought us no-name shoes from here 😭 Kids back then were brutal about not wearing designer labels and there was no online escape for the torture. 3 &4 decades later, I’m telling you, the indignity of those Payless “gym shoes” still bites.

I’m actually from a tiny (<2000) town in semi-rural PA where the biggest employer when I was growing up was the state prison. So I can speak to this one with a lot more authority than this author. It’s got almost *zero* to do with abstractions like their “ way of life”. I can tell you what they say…

For those who were asking about HB 1971’s application to testosterone prescriptions

Massive protests around the UK in response to the Supreme Court's reprehensible ruling this week stripping trans women of legal recognition even with a GRC. Crowd in London is too big for the metal barriers and is spilling out all over as thousands protest the Court's ruling.

The 30th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing is fast approaching. In 2020, @georgiajcatt.bsky.social and I made this podcast all about the long legacy of that tragedy. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

A late one here but for MSNBC, I wrote about JK Rowling, the UK Supreme Court judgement on trans rights, and the current state of trans freedom in the English speaking world. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

Oh cool, here's an @npr.org editor saying flat out that giant nationwide protests aren't "compelling" unless there's some kind of crime or vandalism, ie, unless there's a right-wing spin to put on it. If it's *merely* hundreds of thousands of citizens exercising their right to protest, meh, boring.

I think a lot abt how marginalized people are expected to be perfect just to be treated w/ basic dignity, just to access legal protection. But democracy can’t mean rights for the respectable few. It has to mean fair and just treatment even for those seen as least deserving. That’s the real test.

An unnamed CFPB employee who participated in the agency's layoff decisions says in a sworn statement that its leaders were aware that their approach violated a court order and instructed them to proceed anyway. "All that mattered was the numbers."

jk rowling: just gonna post a photo that makes it clear i’m the good person in this situation the photo:

I think its easy to mistake UK transphobes as being opposed to "men" in women's spaces but what they really oppose is trans women and trans femininity specifically, and the biggest tell is they speak to and about trans women in a way they never would a man

1. A major bill protecting trans people just passed in Washington. It makes insurers cover 12-month supplies of HRT which can be obtained at pharmacies, allowing trans people to stockpile medication to outlast supply disruptions. The latest from S. Baum. Subscribe to support our journalism.

I look at close to 100 stories a week and even more outside of work. I’ve done this ten years. This is among the most horrific things I’ve ever read — testimony from dying children whose access to medicine has been cut off by the Trump administration. www.npr.org/sections/goa...

JKR funded the campaign group behind all this btw. This is why we beg you to stop engaging with Harry Potter media.

This is where your Harry Potter money goes

1. I am raising the alarm: If you are a transgender adult, your care is under threat by President Trump. You should prepare for severe supply disruptions and policies that amount to potential bans. The latest CMS letter indicates an expansion to target adults. Subscribe to support my reporting.

THREAD: The Trump administration's DOJ has removed a study from the NIJ website that found that immigrants, and particularly undocumented immigrants, commit crimes at significantly lower rates than U.S. citizens. The study is at odds with the Trump regime's propaganda about immigrants & crime. (1)

This part

A Florida schoolteacher -- an 11 year veteran -- refused to deadname a trans child in her class. She's been fired for it.

1. The Trump administration is about to release it's own anti-science "Cass Review," a sham review with pseudoscience that will be used to justify sweeping crackdowns on trans care in the United States. No experts are involved in its drafting. Subscribe to support my journalism.

This is INSANE

Whatever fraud there is in Medicaid is largely on the provider side, not beneficiaries. It's health insurance, its not cash. "Fraud" here means going to a doctor if you are unemployed.

Driven from our jobs, our teams, from public places, our names and achievements wiped from museums, landmarks and records. We need cis people to start calling this what it is: a societal purge already well underway. www.silive.com/news/2025/04...

SAVE Act just passed House. It is modern-day poll tax that would disenfranchise tens of millions of Americans, end online, mail + voter registration drives & require voters to register in person at election offices, forcing some rural voters to drive 8 hours to register. Total disaster in every way

How to understand the stock market if you only watch Fox News

This story gets so much worse. The trans woman who she refused to fence only finished in 24th place. Stephanie, the forfeiter, also beat *multiple* cis men in a regional match just one week earlier! And conservatives just paid her $5k for her kneel. Why is nobody talking about this?

I just want to reiterate that the White House Press Secretary — predictably but notably — lied through her teeth about this when asked.
