How come Elon can’t make Twitter work?

I know what you’re thinking: We should mirror the United States government based on how this website is run.

"Find me a small town in southeast Wisconsin where people don't even want 401ks anymore! And get me pictures!"

Woah.

Twitter is down on one of the biggest days of the year in the NFL. Bluesky…

I dreamed about this for a decade and it happened. Life sometimes rocks

where my #sports fans at

I'm not a conspiracy guy, but it seems like not a coincidence that Twitter is dead on the day Musk and Trump are overseeing the tanking of the economy.

From $488 to $241 in three months. Tesla shares now officially cut in half. @cnbc.com $TSLA

the Dow has now given back all gains made since November 5

“america didn’t vote for stealing greenland and suspending pell grants and medicaid” seems like a pretty straightforward thing dems could say idk

The OMB impoundment memo's consequences aren't just about disrupting, in a profound way, *current* funds. It also makes it extremely hard to negotiate *future* spending deals if no one at the table can trust that the executive branch will actually stick to the deal at the execution phase.

a sign of a healthy and functioning democracy is that i'm getting emails from my kids' schools assuring me that the teachers are dedicated to protecting my children against the federal government

I think it's important to not say he's "remolding the u.s. government apparatus" or whatever because that's an automatic Eye Glaze, and instead focus on how he's actively attempting to make our country dumber, slower, poorer. He's turning us into the NY Jets

The stopping all grants thing is reallllllllly going to mess up state budgets

great work team, would hate for you to have to deal with the trouble of the "noise"

Listen to the Dick Nixon parody account, folks. Better political instincts than most.

Someone say something! My goodness this has been an embarrassing week of getting punched in the face by a wannabe dictator. Everyone just taking a winter vacation, I guess.

we have a president with a tenuous grip on small legislative majorities who is out of the gate with a flurry of dramatically unpopular orders and who has just demonstrated his weakness on the international stage. if i were an elected member of his domestic opposition, i might try to draw real blood.

I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service. “Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

Newsome stood up to a loser bully and Trump immediately changed his tune not just on the overall aid to California but aid to states after disasters in general. Look how easy that is. Take notes all.

It’s clear to me Millennials need to start fighting for more political power. If we don’t start now it’s going to be decades before we see real political power. Enough of this shit. No one is coming to bail us out.

It really is such masculine energy to blame things on a woman who no longer works at the company www.nytimes.com/2025/01/16/u...

PA elected officials spent all of 4 years loudly pushing back on this horseshit but suddenly were all too busy yesterday?? What are we evening doing here? We're just get steamrolled by these idiots. www.inquirer.com/politics/pam...

This is embarrassing and should be alarming for senior members of the party. There is no leader of the party right now that the public can identify. www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

Things do seem really bleak on Twitter right now. Just garbage post after garbage post and hundreds of thousands of view on the movement of abhorrent ideas and outright lies. Meanwhile the gains on this site seem to have stalled. Great.

I’m enjoying this first little 2025 snow! Great stuff.

I am more than normally excited about the 2025 PA Farm Show. Totally one of the best events of the year annually in PA.

If the US had modern high-speed electric trains like Japan's, they could be faster than flying anywhere within about 1,000 miles. While planes fly fast, travel to/from airports, security, runway/taxi time, baggage claim, etc. are slow. Here's what a 1,000 mile radius around Denver looks like.

Got this cool Pennsylvania counties map in Lancaster. Looks fantastic.

Rs have been saying for years that terror cells were sneaking across the border and could attack at any moment. Nikki Haley said this in nearly every stump speech. That is not what happened here but a lot of RW commentary just says it was!

A new year is time for resolutions and goals! This year improvement is my goal and I’m devoted to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to work for our neighbors across Pennsylvania. What are YOUR goals for 2025?

Very large amounts of coffee are going to be consumed tomorrow.

Michigan fans improbably somehow getting even more smug.

Guess Oregon didn’t deserve to be in the playoff.

This is a bleak Rose Bowl. My goodness.

Strawberry milkshake flavored Pop-Tarts are fantastic.

Happy New Year.

I’m apprehensive about 2025. It’s going to be a fight. For certain. But I’m certain I’m in for the fight.

Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen on New Years Eve is just fantastic. I love it every time.

Michigan should have been in the playoff!
