My "assistant ", as I try to sort recipes. So far she has confiscated my pen, stolen a shiny paper clip, demanded ear skritchums, and volunteered as a paperweight. It's going well. Payment in treats of course.

Happy 150th birthday to Lucy Maud Montgomery! Her books still resonate with so many readers. I hope that she would approve that I named my cat Maud in her honour. (Montgomery had 4 cats)

Congratulations to KayLynn Veinot of Westisle High School, the winner of the Frank Zakem Memorial Award for Outstanding Youth Parliamentarian and to Elsa McQuaid ofCharlottetown Rural and Olivia MacDougall of Bluefield who received the inaugural Youth Parliament Scholarships.

The first session of the 35th Rotary Youth Parliament is officially underway after the Speech from the Throne, delivered by His Honour Wassim Salouman Lt. Governor of Prince Edward Island. The students were also greeted by Speaker Darlene Comption. I'm so proud of all of these students.
