Your daily reminder that writing love poems and paying deep attention to language is inherently anti-fascist.

imagine demanding somebody else thank your boss. they need a Greek letter lower than Omega to describe this level of subservience

I am exhausted by the argument that buying nothing for a day will do nothing. It is a low-stakes chance for people to decide for themselves whether they are willing to be mildly inconvenienced in solidarity with others. That is the point. It's Day 1 of a Couch to 5k. You're accountable to yourself.

Love this piece. I feel it in my bones!

Do not forget tomorrow's economic blackout #revolution2025

If you are blessed enough to have representatives to call (i.e., don't live in DC), please do this! My mother in SW Florida just talked to an intern who told her that tax breaks help the "poor" 🤷

Looks like tomorrow will bring votes on a Republican plan to fund tax cuts for the rich by slashing Medicaid. So this is a great time to contact your Member of Congress.

Oh crap I open for magazine submissions on Friday 😬

"Or, I don’t know, try Pimsleur for a while." I laughed so hard at this!!

"Science fiction lends itself readily to imaginative subversion of any status quo. Bureaucrats and politicians, who can't afford to cultivate their imaginations, tend to assume it's all ray-guns and nonsense, good for children." - Ursula K. Le Guin (2012) [Anthology idea: Ray-guns and Nonsense]

Matt's classes are wonderful!

The speed at which this new piece is getting rejected makes me think it is either terrible or too hot to handle 🔥

Wonderful readings today from some of my favorite flash writers. Thank you, @francinewitte.bsky.social and @megpokrass.bsky.social ❤️

when you're depressed and then remember music exists and recognize this as a sign that you're starting to feel better

Have you read this piece by @claireoleson.bsky.social at @fivesouth.bsky.social? The tension of having people forced together underwater while a woman is dying on land is 😘 fivesouth.net/saturation-b...

I think about this sentence, pulled from a NYTBR, kinda all the time.
