I heard “Long Distance” by the Kinks the other day and thought the same thing!

A question for K-12 teachers: Can you suggest some examples of text sets that align with U.S. state curriculum frameworks on ELA and literacy? I'm looking particularly for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders in Massachusetts, but any ideas and advice are very welcome! Thank you! #EduSky

So sad to hear this. The Jam has been one of my favorite bands since I was a teenager. Rest in peace.

Please heed this advice. Every natural disaster deployment I have been to has had significant morbidity and mortality from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Getting my tax info together and stress eating pizza on a snowy freezing rainy day.

My cat is, too!

This song is in my head today. I’m pretty sure I had this on a 45. I also think that the writer and performer of this song had one of the best jobs ever. youtu.be/rxgWHzMvXOY?...

The draw toward copyediting and proofreading children’s books and K-12 educational materials is getting stronger and stronger. It’s scary to shift gears at 57. But I want to. The books I work with at the library are so wonderful. I just love them. #kidlit

Oblivious to what’s going on in the world, my cat enjoys a snooze on her half birthday. She is 19 1/2 today!

Now it's "You Spin Me Round" by Dead or Alive, and I'm transported back to the Long Island Railroad, listening to WLIR on my Walkman.

Happening now! First song is "Cars" by Gary Numan. Come join us!

Looking for a Super Bowl alternative? Check out my brother's online radio show! It's modern rock night (I call it "alternative oldies") and it goes from 7-10 p.m. US Eastern time. Come join us! (My cat is requesting "Cool for Cats" by Squeeze.) vaughn.live/totally_70s

Have you ever heard a school marching band play “Lola” by the Kinks?

Fifty years ago tonight, one of my childhood cats was born! Her name was Perk and she loved listening to vinyl.

Having a mug of warm milk while waiting to see if we have a snow day tomorrow.

So thrilled that my brother's online radio show is back on the air after a long hiatus! Love music from the '70s and '80s? Come join us! www.totally70s.com

I got my cat an emotional support kitty toy. We named him Linus and he has a battery-operated heartbeat device and a heating pack. I hope he might help her with anxiety, but it’s too early to tell. #cats

Big Thanks to Canada for that! 😎✨ Pass. It. On. 👇 This could save someone’s life.

The latest #kidlit novel that I can't put down: The Lost Year by Katherine Marsh. Modern-day Matthew learns about his family history through the stories of 3 cousins—two in the USSR & one in NYC. Fascinating to see what these children learn about trust. shop.scholastic.com/parent-ecomm...
