NDPR has posted Andrew Lister's insightful review of my book, "Public Reason and Political Autonomy" (Routledge, 2022). #philsky #philosophy #poltheory #polphil

Looking back at 2024, I am grateful that an insightful and kind review of my book (Public Reason and Political Autonomy) was written by Gabriele Badano and published in Philosophy. philarchive.org/archive/BADP...

If you live in one of these 10 states (AZ, TX AR, MS, FL, GA, TN, KY, IN, OH), today is THE LAST DAY you can register to vote. Even if you think you're registered already, double check to see if your registration is still active. Please do this, it only takes a few minutes. Pass it on.

i guess i could post my favorite live performance of all time www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW62...

You can borrow recording equipment, instruments, AND STUDIO SPACE at the #Toronto library! It's incredible!

Hot off the press: _Politicizing Political Liberalism: On the Containment of Illiberal and Antidemocratic Views_ by Gabriele Badano & Alasia Nuti (OUP). The most important work in political liberalism of the past 6 years (at least). Highly recommended! 👍 #philsky #philosophy #PolTheory #polphil

I’m a nonpartisan election official in North Carolina. Take it from me: vote at early voting (One-Stop). They can fix ANYTHING. They can register you on the spot, even. Take your ID, go midweek to early voting, and you won’t have to stress. On Election Day, your and my options are limited. #voting

I'm begging everyone who posts about this to INCLUDE THE LINK FOR CHECKING YOUR REGISTRATION. It is teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/MVP/mvp.do

A great bit of recent intellectual history from Joe Heath. (Rawls also philosophically killed off libertarianism, but the plutocrats never noticed.)

It is critical that, if you are a US citizen, you check your voter registration every so often. I check mine every two weeks in the lead-up to an election, because the GOP is very sneaky about removing people with little fanfare. Go here: vote.gov/register/ to check. I'm good. For now.

I saw the Anishinaabemowin version of Star Wars in Sudbury tonight and was totally blown away. It was absolutely tremendous to see and hear our language dubbed into one of the biggest movies ever. Congrats to everyone who made this happen! www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Casual reminder to make sure you're still registered to vote before Election Day. There are groups trying to prevent you from doing that. Check now and don't be surprised in November.

GOOD.

Outstanding news: Wisconsin Board of Regents votes 9-8 to reject the blackmail deal. Again, the legislature is trying to exert ideological control over university decisions through blackmail. The regents have said: No. Come back when you have the votes. www.dailycardinal.com/article/2023...

So no raise for any UW system employees (incl. me) in the near future (even though they were approved by the WI legislature already). But I'm glad that the Regents decided not to cave in to the GOP strong arm attempt to interfere in university decision-making. Never give in to bullies like Vos.
